Went here for brunch and tried a few different things which were recommended. The burger was solid, not anything special though. Macka and cheese and salmon croquettes stood out and were delicious. The French toast came with only one slice of bread and no sides which was disappointing, at least have two pieces of bread if I’m paying $15.

Absolutely Delicious Burger and Top notch Mac n Cheese!!!! Staff were super friendly and their service was attentive. The reviews for this place were spot on as all the food was tasty. Definitely get the burger & Mac n cheese they will not disappoint. The patio was very peaceful and inside was cozy. The only knock was their bathroom was extremely tiny. Overall this place has amazing food and top notch service.

Went on a Saturday around 4 pm and snagged a seat at the bar — caught a good time in between the crowds.

Had a Pimm’s Cup (their spin — tasty but underwhelming in size), the BLT (classic and perfectly balanced), crispy fries (excellent), and a house salad (which was a level up from normal).

Service was top-notch — you can tell it’s a well-run operation by how the employees went about their business and interacted with each other.

I definitely need to return for the famous burger. Shout out to Brenda for letting me sample a coffee cocktail she was testing out.

In my opinion, Duke’s would be the great place for you and friends to go for some drinks or maybe even a little late night grub. But it’s not a place I’d recommend as a date night restaurant. I enjoyed the fries and my boyfriend liked the cubano. However, our experience did not live up to the high reputation that this restaurant has— our experience was average. My wings were not very good which was a bit disappointing given 6 wings cost $11. Additionally, the seating left a little to be desired as a restaurant: my boyfriend and I sat at a counter for our meal even though we had asked for a table. Finally, the ambiance within the restaurant (at least on the 1st floor) was better suited towards a bar. All in all, I think a good pick for late-night food or drinks with friends, but not the best date night spots

I’ve gone for bottomless mimosas & happy hour, and both experiences were phenomenal! The prices are reasonable, quality of food and drinks is great, and more importantly, the staff is fantastic. You can tell that they want you to come back and become regulars, which I always appreciate it.

Fun, delicious, and great service. We come to DC often and this place is one of the best. They made my burger into a lettuce wrap – yum – and with an egg and bacon. Keto heaven.

I went here for dinner with a friend and it was really good. I walk by it all the time and I’m glad I finally tried it. You would never know that it is a local chain.

I got the Golden Grain Salad with Chicken, which was apparently a mistake because their burgers are so good. The salad was really good though and it came with lots of chicken, which I appreciated.

If you are in the neighborhood, definitely check this place out!

Mac n cheese was good but service was bad, my specialty drink was served with a soggy cookie in it rather than on top , didnt give us plates/napkins/utensils for appetizers even after asking until we already finished it and ordered another app and it came w that one, also gatekept the complimentary tea and handwarmers for being outside. We tried to order a second, non specialty drink, before hh ended and she said no?? That it was against the rules to order 2 drinks in a row..? Just not very attentive, or helpful even when she was there. Decor was cute at least.

My first time at Duke’s grocery and it did not disappoint. Coincidentally went here on national cheeseburger day and their highly acclaimed Proper Burger did not disappoint! They offer it either medium rare or well done I chose the former and loved it! When in DC I will definitely be back at Duke‘s for a Proper Burger. Also had the Loco Elote or crazy corn, which is basically street corn in a bowl with cheese and peppers. It too was delicious!
