Dinner Menu – D’Raymond’s Restaurant
D’Raymond’s Restaurant: Restaurants Albany NY
fullmenu | D’Raymonds
Reviews
Ann, part owner of D’Raymonds, greeted us upon arrival. From the past of smoked filled booths to current. She made you feel welcomed. From wine to dessert, you knew you would leave satisfied.
If you have never been here, what are you waiting for? I would strongly recommend reservations.
A masterclass in balance, this seafood Alfredo delivers indulgence without overkill. The mafaldine pasta—those elegant, ruffled ribbons—cradle a velvety cream sauce that’s both rich and restrained. Each bite is a gentle wave of comfort, kissed with briny sweetness from perfectly cooked shrimp, lobster, and scallops. The green onion garnish adds a pop of freshness, while cracked black pepper brings just enough edge to keep things interesting.
Visually, it’s a stunner: plated with intention, the seafood glistens like jewels in a sea of silk. It’s the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate the craftsmanship. Bonus points for the cozy bar backdrop—Tito’s signage and all—because nothing pairs with creamy seafood pasta like a well-earned cocktail and good company.
Highly recommend that if you live or visit the area you make a dinner stop here!
We were there on a Tuesday and did not have reservations. Apparently it was a dead night for them and we were seated within 20 minutes.
We had some drinks at the bar while we waited. The bartender was really great he made solid cocktails and we had a great conversation. You can also eat at the bar. If we had a longer wait we would have done that.
Service was top notch from the moment we walked. The host / maître d’ was fantastic. Had great presence and another great conversation. Super accommodating as well.
Food was fantastic and definitely fresh and made to order.
The bread was served with multiple dipping options and came with fresh hot donuts that were a lot like Zeppoli
Started with Zuppa Di Cozze fresh and full of flavor
Main courses for the group
Filet Mignon with Grilled Lobster Tail was 5 stars based on the person who ordered it.
Linguini Alle Vongole again fresh and flavorful based on the person eating it.
I had the Rigatoni Con Salsiccie Alla D’Raymonds
Rigatoni with homemade hot sausage in a pink vodka creme sauce. This dish was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The pasta was aldente and the sauce has the perfect amount of cream.
If I was local to the area I would definitely be a regular. There are so many dishes on the menu I need to try.
The good:
1. The food is almost always fantastic and large portions. That’s for both take-out and eat-in.
2. Food value is high.
3. The bar is usually good. Service often depends on what mood the barkeeper is in.
The bad:
1. They almost NEVER answer their phone. It’s better for me to drive there in person than to depend on the phone. I’ve been there plenty of times when I’ve heard the phone ringing and NO ONE cares to pick up.
2. Unless you get a booth the seating is always uncomfortably tight. And, trying to walk around is like a game of Tetris.
3. The service from long term staff is VERY often RUDE, uncaring, and sometimes incompetent.
4. Nothing moves fast here. If you’re there to pick up something, it’s guaranteed you’re going to be waiting. If you have reservations there’s a 50/50 chance you’ll be waiting long enough to feel frustrated.
Lanie’s restaurant is almost next store. Their food is VERY good – but a notch below D’Raymonds, and the portions are larger. We order more often from Lanie’s mostly because it’s about as good as D’Raymonds, but with far less hassle and frustration. If D’Raymonds had their act together as well as Lanie’s – and, MORE IMPORTANTLY, the way almost all other restaurants operate, they’d get more of my business.
It seems pretty clear that D’Raymonds has been booming for years. They should appreciate their patrons far more than they do instead of taking it for granted.
