We loved sitting out on the balcony and looking at the river and Old Mill. The Reuben was fantastic, not greasy & well balanced. The fresh french fries were delicious and the burger was very juicy.

Location, location, location is what they say, and wow, the Old Mill Pub in downtown Skowhegan is plenty good here with sweeping views overlooking the cliffs and dam of the Kennebec River. Outdoor seating would be fabulous when the weather gets better. There are plenty of good options on the menu. I went with the Baked Haddock Tacos and my friend had the Maple Bourbon Steak Tips; both were excellent. Great view, great food, great server, great margaritas; our experience here was very nice. Very much recommended.

We’ve been coming to this glorious restaurant and sitting outside for the last 3 to 4 years. It is our must go to place to hang out when the weather gets warmer. Right now it’s absolutely perfect, because tourists aren’t here and kids are still in school. Had a delightful flatbread sandwich of turkey, Canadian bacon, thinly sliced turkey and cheddar cheese with their own hand, cut, french fries which were just simply divine. Husband had their butter poached haddock over rice, which she devoured. All this sitting outside basking in the glorious sun and listening to the sound of the river. Service was excellent, seemingly always knowing when to either refill a glass or check and see if we need anything else. A perfect 10 on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon in Skowhegan, Maine.

Very good hearty pub food. Steak tips were outstanding. Nice atmosphere and super friendly staff. We got there just before closing, but were never rushed. We’ll certainly be returning. Highly recommend!

Fall, Winter, Spring, & Summer, Never a miss. I have been stoping here on my way to Jackman or Quebec for many years. Stopped by on my way to Quebec City first week of May and the river was very fast from snow melt and rain. Hit a perfect day to sit on the deck. Kathleen was spot on with service. Food was good and they know how to pour a good pint of Guinness . I be back this summer .

The wait for a table…it was long. Very long. You have to stand awkwardly in the busiest part of the restaurant while you wait…unless you wait outside. Hostess was also bartending so the customers were confused about what to do.

Despite this, everything else was great. We were seated upstairs in a cozy area. Our server was really nice. We ordered wings which were hot and so good! I ordered the Steak and Cheese Wrap which was phenomenal. It was so yummy looking, a patron at the next table wanted to get it as well! It’s built for easy eating…easy to hold and it didn’t fall apart. My husband got the Rodeo burger. It was a big juicy burger and he really enjoyed it!

Definitely give this place a try. We drove up from Auburn and it was worth the drive for sure. Plus it’s a cute little town to look through. Win-win!

Mussels were absolutely great, the fish and chips could have been better. Service was a bit on the slow side

Nice place in the center of town. Typical and comfortable pub. Only had a drink, but can imagine a local institution with lively entertainment. It was a beautiful day and offered great views. Cannot comment on the food, but their menu offered typical pub fare. Friendly staff. 2 levels. Outdoor patio. Great local place

I really enjoyed the atmosphere but that’s about where it stopped. The service was slow & sitting outside you can hear the kitchen scream for the servers. The french onion soup had decent flavor but it was incredibly salty. Mozzarella sticks were overpriced. My husband ordered the rodeo burger & subbed out the cheese for bleu cheese crumbles & the pub fries for beer battered fries. It was an additional $1 for the cheese & and additional $1 for for the fries which the serving was a mere handful. The burger also appeared to be frozen & was improperly cooked. I ordered chicken tenders & fries as an entree… the chicken tenders were the overly breaded, processed kind & the fries appear to be the hand cut kind but once again, the restaurant receives them frozen. Incredibly disappointing meal that was overpriced.

Nice pub style atmosphere. Greeted at door by hostess and had a 10 minute wait to be seated for lunch so she offered us to sit at the bar. Very small place with seating on the deck however it was raining outside so we sat upstairs. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. A great variety on the menu! We had buffalo wings as an appetizer which were delicious. For lunch it was a steak sandwich with beer battered fries and a chicken sandwich with handcut fries, both meals were perfect. Would definitely go back!!
