Super cute little restaurant! Inside is wonderfully decorated and staff is super nice! Everything came out fast and was delicious. Classic patty melt was perfect and the fried okra was fresh and clearly home grown. Rockfish fish and chips was great too. Was a little on the pricy side, but we did get 3 specials and got to have dinner with a great atmosphere.

Id love to give a very positive review because I am sure, like many others on the way to Mt. Rainier saw this restaurant and thought to stop by to eat because of the whole “eat in a train deal” after 5 years living in WA i finally decided to do a trip to grab good here, the veredict? Far from a really good food, but wouldn’t say it’s bad.
Maybe Is what we ordered, we had the “Mt. Rainier & the Bigfoot” burger, one is beef and the other chicken. Unfortunately, they lost the first impression on tasty food for us, we wouldn’t come back here, I think the price was 10 to 14 dlls above what it should cost, at least judging for the flavor, the burgers were $25 and $24 respectively, could the price be because it’s a small town and need to be more expensive that other places to compensate for something? Or is it pricy because it’s a high tourist road? Or maybe getting the ingredients is expensier because is “far”, I don’t know.
I think that for that price, customer should receive something that the restaurant is proud to serve, restaurant should be excited for people to try anything they sell, I feel that it lacks that “intention” in their food and prices they have just don’t relate, “taste price ratio” it’s not there.
Fries felt old too and somewhat “burned”.
The one thing I did like, the small serving of BBQ sauce i asked to dip my fries is it a house recipe? I don’t know, but it was good.
Sorry I do feel bad leaving a not good review but the food was “ok” nothing makes me want to have it again.
Should you go try this place, sure, but don’t go with hopes high or order something different, burger places, there are better places.
Server was nice with a good attitude, atmosphere was good too, they are missing staff and they are aware of that.

Come to this establishment if you dont like good service and food. Server forgot to take our order and took care of other parties in line behind us. Almost 20 minutes just to put in our order and another 20 for it to arrive, even with the restaurant half empty. My prime rib was stone cold, the best part of it was the a1 sauce packets I used to dip it in. Drinks were forgotten and when it was brought over there was ice in it even though it was specifically requested no ice.

The coolest dining on the tracks kinda experience! The train was awesome!! The fish and chips were to die for! I love that it came with coleslaw and garlic bread and the twist of lemons on top. I loved the presentation and the rockfish tasted so fresh and juicy. Our server was wonderful as well and had a great sense of humor, it was a very fun experience after a long hike 😀

Cool little restaurant on the side of the road, train turned restaurant! We came here after hiking in mount rainier(and it seems like other hikers did as well haha) food was decent, they give you a giant sized burger with tons of fries we did not end up finishing it all. Atmosphere is whimsical and has a lot of historical value/charm. I think the appeal of the place would’ve been better if It wasn’t greeted with cobwebs and Tiny spiders against the window or ceiling

We decided to have lunch at the Mt. Rainier Railroad Dining Co. for the experience. Although the menu we found online didn’t seem particularly impressive, our curiosity got the best of us. I love unique, authentic, and charming places, and this dinner certainly fits the bill.
We were quickly seated at a lovely window table, which was a nice touch! We ordered the BBQ pulled pork fries and sliders, and while the food was just okay, the atmosphere and overall experience made it worth it!

Atmospheric, delicious, great service. I ordered Blackbery Salmon
(broiled Salmon topped with homemade wild Blackbery sauce with Yukon gold mash potatoes and veggies and ganlic bread), and it was tasty!

Tucked away in a truly memorable spot, this meal was the perfect pre-hike indulgence.
The burger was rich and juicy, the fish & chips crisp and delicate, and the sandwich — fresh, flavorful, and energizing.
Each bite felt thoughtfully crafted, offering both comfort and nourishment.
Ideal for those who crave elevated flavors before venturing into nature.

We had lunch at this cute unique restaurant. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries. Fries were homemade very delicious. Staff was friendly and restaurant was clean. Very busy place and appeared to be understaffed but our waiter was great.

We stopped for a refreshing beverage on our way to Packwood. This is a must see experience. The founders grandson was our bartender making the stop even more enchanting.
