Overall it was a positive experience in that the selection of food was good.
The chicken quality when we ate was not great and seemed like it had been in a warmer for some time. The pizza was very good! Service was average for a place like this.
Very family friendly with an arcade. It was noisy with all the children bustling around.

We had our 4th annual holiday lunch at Emporia Pizza Ranch. Pizza Ranch was outstanding as usual! 30 of us gathered from Wichita, Hutchinson, and Kansas City.

Compared to the Pizza Ranch in Wichita, this place is way better! This place, the pizzas are actually fresh and not sitting in a window for an hour before putting them on the buffet. The employees were actually nice and moving pizzas around to make room for new pizza. Will be back again

I’ve been here twice. I was going to review after my first visit, and I’m very glad I didn’t.
I ate here on a Thursday night and it was VERY good. I was blown away by how good the chicken was on a pizza buffet. Once. I was impressed once. I went for the two. Oops.
My husband and I thought that it would be really good on a Sunday. Oh, how woefully wrong I was.
It was crowded. It’s a Sunday. That’s a good sign. Right? Right?!
I noticed that people were crowding around the salad bar and the pizza buffet, but essentially avoiding the hot bar where the fried chicken is kept. I could not understand why, until it was time for me to eat my chicken. There was a lady who was putting out “new” chicken, but it looked like it had been left in the fryer about 10 minutes too long. No one would touch it. So, we asked what was wrong with the chicken. She freely told us the oil was old.
Then, not five minutes later, the manager came to my table. Oh, thank goodness. Maybe he could help?
No such luck. In his EXACT WORDS, “That’s what happens when the fryer oil gets to the end of its life, but the chicken still eats good. I can go get them to drop you some more chicken.”
No sir, no. That oil was OLD, And why are we discussing your fryer oil like we’re going to have a wake for it?
You AND the kitchen staff said it’s old and then just kept on going like it’s nothing.
Then, rather than talk to me about the food quality, he walked away. I wish I was making that up. The man cut himself off in mid-sentence and walked away! We were not being rude. We did not ask for a special favor or our money back. We simply asked about the old grease and the difference in quality from day to day in the same restaurant.
We left. Gross.
I watched an entire table of teenage boys make laps to that buffet with frowns on their faces, because they could not eat fried chicken. They were forced to eat pizza and mashed potatoes, because the chicken is not fit for human consumption.
However, if you want fresh chicken and hot pizza, I have been assured that Monday is the day to do it! There is a silver lining.

Great well-stocked and hot buffets. Usually 8-10 pizzas plus cheesy bread, a chicken meal buffet with som of the tastiest chicken and potatoes/gravy, stuffing, corn, etc. A salad area…then a dessert bar with both fruit pizzas and chocolate chip cookie pizzas…plus soft serve ice cream.

Pizza Ranch will always be Emporias premier place for a Pizza Buffett with so much more. I love the Pizza and how you can request a specialty pizza. Their deserts are tasty and I know my mom loves their fried chicken. It’s not only Pizza, It’s Pizza Ranch. If you’re traveling through the Emporia area, bypass the first Pizza place you see next to Pizza Ranch because the Buffets are night and day between these 2 Places. Come hungry, leave full and satisfied. Guaranteed.

You wouldn’t know it from the name but they have really good fried chicken! Pizza and other items were good too! A little noisy but that’s to be expected at this type of restaurant. Service was very good

We went to go to the buffet but it was super crowded right at dinner time so we decided to just order food to go. We got wings, cheese sticks, a stuffed crust pizza, and the cactus dessert pizza. The wings were top notch and we know for next time to just stick with the chicken!! The pizza was absolute garbage to the point where we had to throw half of it away it was just so gross. The cheese sticks and dessert pizza wasn’t bad, but not worth going out of your way for it. Also, they dropped our pizza when they went to package it up and had to remake it but didn’t remake everything else so that’s probably why it was all gross. The pizza was soggy and pretty undercooked and everything else was barely warm.

This is my new favorite buffet! There’s something for everyone, NOT JUST PIZZA!!! Their fried chicken is amazing!! They have a salad bar, and their dessert cookie is warm, melty, and DELICIOUS, especially topped with ice cream! They have a bunch of other dishes and desserts too. Definitely check it out!!

The food was so good. I went for pizza and had the fried chicken. It’s a pizza place that has some of the best fried chicken….really. What an odd combination. But I will most definitely eat here again and again. It is self-service, so I did an amazing job keeping my plate and drink full. I gave myself 5 stars. Yes, go her and eat here.
