This might genuinely be one of the worst McDonald’s locations I’ve ordered at and even if I were to be refunded I still wouldn’t be satisfied. At exactly 8:44 PM I put in an order for a Bacon Double Quarter Pounder, a large fry, and a large sprite from this location to 1701 N Church St. Alright, everything’s fine so far, so what’s the issue?? It’s when the order arrives and the raw meat which was masked by a little bit of browning presented itself. At first I assumed it was a little. Only to open the burgers insides and see a raw meat patty that could barely be considered cooked. And the worst part is the fact that this order wasn’t even an order intended for me to eat but a loved one, so it just makes the matter that much more infuriating for me. Not to mention when I tried calling up to the location to ask what was going on the phone rung ceaselessly but no one ever picked up. I genuinely would not risk wasting money nor your health at this location.

This is one of the worst McDonald’s locations I’ve visited.

I was asked to pull forward and park during the drive-thru. When my order was brought out, the employee handed me a broken bag, which caused all the fries to spill inside my car. When I pointed this out, the employee told me that if I wanted new fries, I would have to reorder and pay again, even though the issue was clearly not my fault.

I asked to speak with a manager and the situation got worse. The manager still required me to pay for additional fries, took no responsibility for the mistake and then told me that if I didn’t want to move and park when instructed in the drive-thru, I could either get my order refund or they would call the police. That response was completely unnecessary and unprofessional.

There are many McDonald’s locations in McKinney with much better customer service. This one stands out in a bad way. On top of everything, they never add salt to the fries, which seems minor, but it’s a consistent issue.

I will not be returning to this location.

I am a regular costumer at this location, most morning mgrs and staff know me by face. I always order a senior coffee. Lately, the app hasn’t been working to redeem my beverage at the discount price. It is really inconvenient. I appreciate the staff honors my code when its not working properly.

Stopped through late and it was hit or miss. Food was warm, not fresh. Service was slow and not locked in I had to repeat my order more than once. The atmosphere felt off too not dirty, but definitely not welcoming either. This ain’t a hate review, just the truth: y’all gotta tighten up if you wanna keep people pulling up.

“Fast food don’t mean forget the basics clean, quick, and correct.

The food you find here and the time you get your food is average for a high traffic area. So I really don’t have any complaints on the food. The service is average as I completely understand the timing of all the orders comming through…I do next expect customer service to be a priority. However, this location has one of the rudest managers I have ever come across. I placed my order online to pick up through drive thru. In my order, I had a plain sundae and an ice cream cone. Did not order 2 cones because I wasn’t going to be able to drive with 2 cones in my hand…so I asked the nice lady in the window giving the orders if I can have a extra cone (just the cone, as I had a plain sundae in the cup it comes with). She kindly grabbed all my order and saw her reaching for the extra cone when the manager approached her and took the cone directly away from her hand. The employee was trying to explain my situation. I even reached for my sundae and try to explain that I ordered online and there is no way to get the ice cream and cone sperate which is why I paid for the sundae separately that is a few cents more than if I were to order a cone. I can see the manger moving her hands around, angry demeanor shutting the employee down only to tell her “she is just going to have to reorder.” The problem is not the cone. The attitude of this manager was wild…she did not approach the window and explain to me why I couldn’t get the extra cone nor gave me the opportunity to perhaps pay for it. The employee came back to the window apologetic. I didn’t argue and was never rude. I just thanked the young lady for trying and left. This employee greeted me with a smile. Was willing to go beyond for customer service. I was not trying to get a meal for free…I was willing to pay an upcharge. I hope this young lady is treated right in her work. If this location values service, then some coaching needs to be done starting with thier shift leads.

Dear McDonald’s Customer Service,

I am writing to report a serious food safety issue that occurred on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at your restaurant located at 1810 W University, McKinney, TX 75069.

My son visited this location drive-through and brought home a Quarter Pounder meal for me. After taking my first bite, I immediately realized the burger patty was raw and bloody. I was alarmed and panicked, as consuming undercooked beef poses a serious health risk.

I tried calling the store several times, but there was no answer. Concerned for my health and wanting to report the issue promptly, I drove to the location with the food. Upon arriving, I discovered there was no way to enter the building, so I rang the bell at a side window. A young employee came to the window, and I explained the situation, asking to speak with a General Manager.

Another woman came to the window, but instead of receiving an apology or concern for the situation, the interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. She asked for my receipt without even addressing the food safety issue or offering an apology, and when I declined to hand over the raw burger (offering instead to let her photograph it while I held it), she told me I “didn’t have to be rude.” I want to be clear that my tone was calm and justified, especially given the circumstances, and I have a recording of the conversation. I was refunded for the meal, but I left disappointed and disturbed that this occurred at all. I’m extremely concerned about the lack of care and professionalism displayed, as well as the fact that such an uncooked burger was served in the first place. Undercooked beef, or in this situation, uncooked beef, presents a serious health hazard!

If I could give – 100, this would be it!

The photo does not do justice, and the video I have won’t upload.

Suggestions: Please ensure that all food is cooked thoroughly to proper food safety standards. I also recommend conducting an unannounced visit to the store, posing as a regular customer, to observe how the staff handle orders and customer interactions firsthand. You may find that certain employees are negatively impacting your franchise’s reputation and overall performance, which in turn slows down revenue.

This location is AWFUL! I ordered pickup for a $5 meal—20 nuggets with a basket of fries—and a double quarter pounder meal. It took them 30 minutes to bring my food out. They forgot all of my fries (1 small, 1 medium, and 1 basket), so I had to get out of the car and go to the window to get them. When I finally received all of my fries and got home, the burgers were cold. The fries were soggy and practically still frozen. Absolutely disgusting! The employees don’t communicate and clearly should not be working in customer service. I highly recommend that no one waste their time or money at this location. The food is bound to make someone sick.

We have had a bad experience with the customer service provided by McDonald’s, as our order did not have some items included both times we ordered from the restaurant. Nevertheless, they solved the problem once we contacted them and left a review for the issue.
We really appreciate the way it was handled.
Special thanks to Brian.

This is an interesting location. There is no dine in area. To order, there is a walk-up window aside from the drive-thru. For service and to use the restrooms, there is a doorbell for service. Service is slow when ordering via walk up.
