Old-fashioned spot with familiar Italian & American dishes in a diner-like setting.

I have not eaten at this restaurant since the eighties. When I got word that Gordon Ramsay was revamping the restaurant I decided to come visit again. We tried the lasagne, the crispy chicken thighs, the green pie and the ribbolita. All were phenomenal. All fresh ingredients, top notch ingredients. I will definitely be back. Thank you Gordon for bringing back such an nostalgic restaurant.

Met some friends here for dinner. Everything was wonderful. Our waitress Dawn was the best waitress we ever had so tentative to everything couldn’t ask for a better experience. The potato soup is excellent along with the ribs half slab filled me right up. Nothing left on my plate besides crumbs.

Pizza was good and fresh. Pizza sauce was very good.
Mozzarella sticks were not good.
On a side note. While I was picking up my food there were two workers yelling back and forth about another order or mistake that was made. Very unprofessional and awkward to be arguing like that in front of a customer.

I really wanted to like this place but I have had so many bad experiences. First, got there just before 8pm. Waitress took our order, brought us our soups and one glass of soda. At 8:50pm she came back handed us the bill and asked if we wanted dessert. I told her that we would like our food. Oh bummer they forgot to make it and had shut down the kitchen but hey we won’t charge you for the soup and soda. Second, ordered our meal, waitress brought it out and for the next half hour she talked to a couple sitting on the opposite side of the building. She brought the bill and asked if I wanted anything else and I told her that I would have liked a refill of my soda 20 minutes ago. She apologized and told me she had been really busy. Third, ordered the fish and chips on Friday during lent. It wasn’t fish it was sponges full of oil. Worse fish and chips I ever had. Fourth, ordered quart of chicken noodle soup got home and it was actually just chicken broth with no noodles. Took it back and they begrudgingly added some noodles. Fifth, bought fried mushrooms for $10 and if you look at the picture you can be your own judge. I was told there was no problem with it. I did insist they give me my money back.

It had been about 20 years since I last visited Firenze. The food is still tremendous. The service was exceptional. The ambiance is classic. This place is an absolute gem. I’d forgotten just how delicious the antipasto salad is. That’s no disrespect to the incredible Cheesy pizza sticks or Firenze platter, either, those were excellent too.

So we will never be here again that’s for sure. I saw a review that said the best fish and chips ever or the best fish and chips around and was super excited only to be severely disappointed. These were mushy oil soaked triangles that looked like they weren’t even made in house. I’ve never had fish and chips look so uniform and the same what is up with that are these like frozen and they cook them? Why are they all triangles? Whenever I’ve had fish and chips they are beautiful lumps or strips of golden crispy goodness not soggy triangles. Had to send them back. The chicken tendies looked not made in-house either. They were overcooked, dry and looked like something you buy at the grocery store. Had a big chunk of doughy section that look like it was going to be a nice chunk of meat but twas not. Was here probably 30 years ago and I don’t remember it being like this at all, what happened. Salad was kinda sad I almost forgot, had like two little pieces of round tomato must have been Roma and two pieces of cucumber that were a little more substantial and some greens.

This was our first time dining here and I’m sorry we hadn’t found it sooner. The food was very tasty, hot, and so reasonably priced. We had the nicest waiter, Buddy. He was friendly, gave us his recommendations (which I’m glad we took), and attentive. The eggplant parmesan was packed with eggplant and cheese, alfredo sauce was creamy; the chicken firenze was crispy and the sauce was garlicky; and the bread was soft and buttery. We will definitely be back!!

Firenze’s is a true old school, Italian staple. This is the place that you come in as a guest and leave as family! Friendly service, huge portions, and very reasonable prices for exceptional quality!
The crispy eggplant is my favorite, and is served with the aesthetic of bubbling, baked cheese! Their chicken pastina soup is the best around. It can be 90 degrees and I’ll still crave it
Their antipasto salad is a great refreshing salad, and is loaded with meat and cheese! I’m not usually an Alfredo-type gal, but Firenze’s is heavenly. The cream sauce just melts in your mouth and makes excellent leftovers.
There are a ton of closer places for me to get soup when I’m sick, but if I can, I will go out of my way to get a quart of theirs… and of course a couple cannolis
PS- Hands down best cannoli (better than straight from Italy )

This neighborhood staple has been around since the 70’s. It started out in a small no non sense building with a just a couple of tables to sit at. They were mainly used for patrons to sit at while they waited for their pickup orders.
Their reputation for preparing great food and friendly service had proceed them and had people returning over and over again. Which has lead to what the restaurant has become to today. It’s reputation is 10 to non.
It’s now a great place to meet up with friends or family to enjoy conversations while enjoying great food with a friendly professional staff.
It’s not like some other Italian restaurants were is dimly lit and conversation is low key.
It’s vibrant inside and has a great atmosphere. It’s always humming.
We were greeted promptly by the hostess, who was a young man and were seated right a away. Their attention to detail and urgency to get one seated as soon possible was much appreciated. He also asked us what we wanted to drink.
We were handed menus to look at. I must say this. They have the most enticing menu with a wide variety of menu options to choose from. From Chicken Parmigiano to Baked White fish to Salads or pizza., burgers or Reubens and half portion dishes and a kids menu too.
After looking over the menu I decided to go with I remembered as a kid. I order a pizza, as this was one of their stables and one that helped build the restaurant from the early days. They had always been known for their pizza and fish. Neither one, I remembered as kid, ever disappointed us as we had both every Friday. (See the below picture)
Dad decided to have the Antipasto salad with their homemade house dressing.
Within no time, as we sat talking, the food had arrived to us. Hot and both dishes looking delicious. The cheese bubbling on the pizza and the crust just crispy enough. The salad loaded with all it’s toppings.
We dug in to enjoy our meals. It brought back memories. The pizza with its traditional pepperoni and zesty sauce and fresh mozzarella cheese..hmmm it looked yummy and it was as I remember as a kid. On the other side, the Antipasto salad had large slices of salami and ham and cheese. Dad had ordered a small and it really could had feed two people.
As we sat and enjoyed our meal I looked around the restaurant and seen nothing but happy people enjoying their meals and conversation and time together. That was a testament to Frienzes reputation as a great restaurant that I high recommend coming too.
Can accommodate larger parties. Call for reservations
Ask to be seated in Elizabeth or Kasy P. Section…they rock..

This is a wierd review. It started off by me ordering a welldone medium margherita deepdish pizza. Customer service is amazing which i will give 1 of the stars to. They made a mistake and made me a small not a medium. Im a big guy so small wont cut it . They offered to give me the small for free and they will make my medium. I didnt take the small and ended up waiting for the medium. too many small and medium words i know. Anyways after waiting for another pizza to be made. They made a round pizza not a deepdish . They also gave me a cannoli and ranch on the house which was nice of them. Most of the pizza was well done not all, making me believe that their oven is messed up or something. Pizza had a synthetic butter taste. The tomatoes were oddly cut into chunks. Generally on this type of pizza the tomatoes are cut thin so they can evenly cook. The garlic tasted awful. Im surprised that this place isnt aware that you DO NOT use sprouted garlic in food. You have to cut the sprout out of it before using it otherwise you get a nasty flavor from it. The ranch was okay. The connoli was great, hence the 2nd star. Im not sure if i will try this place again honestly. I am however surprised that they managed to use fresh ingredients.
