TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

First time eating here. Ill start off with everyone was so nice, the man who I am assuming was the owner of this location came out and explained everything. He even gave us a free meal card for next time just because. Super nice guy.
We ordered sliders, mozzarella sticks, and Mac and cheese.
Okay so sliders arent the size of sliders, they are full sandwiches lol. I got the medium spice level. I was going for flavor and not heat. Medium was a nice combination of slight heat with seasoning. The chicken was crisp with each bite, no soggy spots. I wish there was a little more of the kale salad on the slider, but it was delicious.
The crinkle cut fries were seasoned well and were definetly rated above most places that serve them.
Mozzarella sticks had a huge cheese pull! We ordered plain to dip in sauces. The Daves sauce had a nice tang to it with a little sweetness.
100% returning to try more.

If you want to test your spice tolerance, then this is the place. The Reaper is extremely potent. I thought I could handle it but it humbled me. Hot is is plenty spicy but doesn’t make my eyes water or my nose run.
The food overall is good. The chicken is juicy yet the breading is crispy. I do recommend that you shake off the chicken a bit because they tend to over-dust it with spice. Not a deal breaker.
Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Yes, you will wait for your food, because they make it to order. That’s a reasonable trade off.
Something is off about the atmosphere that I can’t quite put my finger on. Feels a little depressing to me and I don’t know why. Maybe it’s the industrial aesthetic.

Excellence in fast food still exists. Service with a smile, manager that goes above and beyond to ensure every customer experience is enjoyable. Very clean dining room and restrooms. Now on to the food…. THE VERY BEST HOT CHICKEN! I said it….I mean it. It’s worth the drive if you aren’t close. Love love love Daves Hot Chicken!

I just tried Dave’s Hot Chicken for the first time over the weekend. My husband really wanted to take me, and has been talking about it for literal months. I was skeptical at first, but upon taking my first bite, I looked at him and I said “Okay…. I get it now.” It was delightful! The food was fresh, delicious, and the staff was incredibly professional and friendly. Portion size was wild to me! A slider was the size of a normal sandwich! We will definitely be back.

The very spicy flavor was no joke. It was so hot my stomach hurt all day, but the sweet and spicy chicken still felt like the perfect stress reliever! Dave’s sauce is incredibly delicious, and when you dip the spicy chicken in it, the flavor is truly addictive.
