We recently had our first meal at The Original Breakfast Place, and we loved the classic diner atmosphere and decor. Though the kitchen was busy and there was a bit of a wait, the food was definitely worth it. We enjoyed the “Terri’s Big Breakfast,” the “East Side,” and a delicious peaches and cream waffle special.
Our only minor complaints were that the food arrived a little lukewarm and our table near the front door was quite chilly. On cold days, the draft is noticeable when both doors are held open by waiting crowds. However, the value here is unbeatable—the waffle special with bacon was only $5.59! Our server was also prompt and delightful. We’ll definitely be back, though we’ll request a seat further inside next time!

A great find for breakfast in the Erie/ North East area! This was our first time visiting this area and we’re happy to find a welcoming family style restaurant for breakfast with friendly knowledgeable staff. They were bustling when we arrived, but still had some tables available as we were seated right away. Our food was delicious; fluffy pancakes, good sized omelet, delicious home fries and I noticed there was no grease left behind on the plates, so not a “greasy spoon.” Definitely our go-to next time we’re here!

I was traveling and this was close to the hotel and had great reviews. There was no wait and I was seated right away. The coffee was good and refilled regularly. I tried the frittata as it was recommended. I read that they gave generous portions so I got the half order and I am glad that I did as it was the size of a regular order in my opinion. I got it with sausage gravy on top. It was really good. I liked the Italian toast also. The service was excellent and prices were very good. This is a nice local breakfast restaurant and most of the tables were filled. This was a Monday morning so I can tell that it’s popular and the reviews said as much. If in the area looking for breakfast then I would highly recommend.

It doesn’t get better for breakfast than The Original Breakfast Place. Top-notch service, incredible food, and a welcoming environment make it a standout spot.
We arrived at 8:30 AM on a Saturday and had no trouble getting a table for five. By around 9:00 AM, a wait had started to build—so definitely worth going early if you can.
The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. I ordered the East Side with Italian bread, and wow—everything was spot on. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the sausage was packed with flavor, and the home fries were crispy.
Highly recommend this place for a relaxed, satisfying breakfast experience.

Incredible restaurant.
Decent price, quality, service, and atmosphere.
Was passing though visiting folks and they took us here. Popular with the locals and for a very good reason. Service wasn’t slow but the kitchen was pumping out orders – it was standing room only with a line. Well worth it.
I had an East Side with scrambled eggs, thick white toast, and Italian sausage links. Perfect.

Lots of friendly staff. Coffee cup never empty. Ordered medium steak and it was well done. Ordered over easy eggs and they were over cooked and the potatoes were cold. The waffle was slightly cold. Butter wouldn’t even spread over it. The chicken
was hot. Great service but not so great food. Highly disappointed. Will not return.

This is definitely one of my go-to breakfast places when I’m visiting Erie- the only one now that I think about it. The food is always fantastic. The service is fast, courteous, and welcoming. It’s a great place to meet up with others and have an enjoyable breakfast and conversation. Very fair prices. Nothing bad to say! 10/10 recommend.

I got off at the freeway and drove like 5 mi out of my way to go to this restaurant. This was probably the worst freaking breakfast I’ve ever had in my life. My waitress, I believe her name was Becky, was fine. However, I would caution her that next time somebody asks her. How is your country fried steak? She doesn’t reply, ‘Everybody loves it. ” That was the worst gravy I ever tasted. The coffee tasted like it came from Walmart’s bargain basement. Becky was very nice but I can certainly not recommend this place.
