Great lunch specials and combos. You get a lot of food, from hot tea to side dishes to salad/soup to ice cream, for a very reasonable price. I’ve been here many times and most of the times I’ve been, the chef/owner always comes by and greets us personally. The food itself is solid — Korean-inspired Japanese cuisine. It can get crowded during weekends and holidays, so I would recommend making a reservation beforehand during these times.

This restaurant is an absolute standout in Atlanta. Although it’s a Japanese restaurant, it’s run by Korean owners — and they truly know how to deliver top-quality food and exceptional service. Every dish is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The staff is warm, attentive, and consistently goes above and beyond. It’s no surprise this place has become a beloved long-time establishment in the community.
I have to be honest: there’s another Korean owner in the area where I once left a one-star review because the service and attitude were unbelievably disappointing. If they ever want to learn how to run a business the right way, they should come here and take notes. This place is the perfect example of how professionalism, kindness, and quality create loyal customers and a lasting reputation.
Highly recommend — you’ll taste the difference and feel genuinely welcomed every time you visit.

Dinners with dad, lunch edition, episode 849…like the sign says, ‘Since 1970’…amazing…almost a forgotten gem…next door to what used to be Service Merchandise on Buford Highway…walked in around noon on a Saturday and got the last walk-in available table! If you don’t like sushi/sashimi, they have other delicious options for you but their speciality is sushi & sashimi…the way they produce it like magicians with a knife as a wand is amazing…huge pieces…this is ‘Korean style’ sushi/sashimi…served on beds of shredded radish with cho-gochujang in squirt bottles for dipping…next time, bringing a bigger group and getting a sushi boat! Mom loved her abalone porridge and dad loved his udon! If you’re in the area, check them out!

Seafood is fresh and delicious, it’s an amazing combination with Korean style soup. And look at the size of the crab, it’s really as good as in the picture. Must try!

Great place, food is presented amazingly and tastes good. I had the Chirashi Don, which is raw fish bowl. Price is not bad foe when you get (miso soup and salad included)

From the moment we sat down, it was clear we were in the hands of a true master. The chef’s expertise shone through in every course, but the tuna selections were simply extraordinary—each cut perfectly prepared to highlight its unique flavor and texture. From the rich, buttery otoro to the delicate akami, every bite was a revelation. The pacing of the meal, the thoughtful presentation, and the balance of flavors all spoke to years of skill and dedication. This was more than dinner—it was an artful journey through the very best of Japanese cuisine.

Good service. Excellent value and great experience. We were delighted by the variety of Kang Nam Jungsik A and the size of HWE DUP BAB. The quality of the sashimi was excellent. There is a weekday lunch special menu that’s even more economical. We were there on a Saturday and so glad we stayed. Highly recommend.

The food was always great ⭐️. Sashimi and sushi are of great quality, and spicy fish soup is amazing. The price and values of food are extraordinary especially in lunchtime.
Service might be a hit or miss, though. I would suggest not expecting something you will typically get at a sit-down restaurant.
I would definitely come again for their great food.
