This is our go to for great seafood! It has a bar and dining area indoors and a patio area as well.
Fresh raw oysters, the calamari, or both are great starters with a generous selction of cocktials, wine, whiskey and beer. Our party ordered the Fresh Market fish. You have choices of how your seafood selection will be prepared. Blackend is a favorite.
We also incude extra sides such as the Brussel sprouts.
The beignets are a great ending to the New Orleans meal.

HUGO’S OYSTER BAR

EXCELLENT food.
The service is fast with a friendly staff.
The atmosphere is cozy and dimly lit. The walls are covered with cool paintings and the decorate for the holidays.
Indoor and outdoor dining areas are available (depending on the weather).
You can also sit at the bar / counter.

I recommend this restaurant.

I’ve been coming here for several years. I’ve had good food and then okay food, and the last several years it’s gotten worse, meaning the quality, the flavors, the oversaltiness.

In my latest trip to have my favorite oyster po boy. I said please don’t add any salt, unfortunately it was a salt bomb, again. The bread was not fresh, instead flaky. This is now two times in a row.

The develed eggs were bland, lacking flavors you’d expect from a Cajun restaurant.

The jambalaya tasted really good, had good flavors. But again, way oversalted couldn’t be eaten. We couldn’t finish it.

I really felt bad hours after eating the food.

I recommend not eating here until they replace their chief.

The catfish with red beans and rice was ok, though not well seasoned – a bit bland. My wife was disappointed in her Jambalaya, not what she expected having been to New Orleans. She said the garlic toast was cold and stale and she won’t be back. I would like to come again to try the oysters, but will have to find someone to accompany me. The wine was good .

Absolutely delicious food. Such a cool, cozy atmosphere. We walked in and were seated right away. My husband and I relally enjoyed the fried calamari, oysters, and gumbo. The red fish and risotto were divine. Service was top tier. Definitely adding to the dinner roster. Yum

I drove an hour just to satisfy my craving for oysters, and Hugo’s did not disappoint! From the start, I experienced top-tier service (ask for Farouk) and even better food. The calamari was incredibly tender and paired perfectly with the lemon aioli sauce not to mention the Parmesan cheese beignets… OMG, absolutely mind-blowing!

I also ordered the char-grilled oysters, and the sauce was phenomenal rich, flavorful, and perfectly blended. The drinks were just as impressive. I had a lemon drop (with tequila instead of vodka), and my guest enjoyed an old-fashioned both made to perfection.

Hugo’s was well worth the drive, and I’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I ate here recently and had a great experience! Loved the decor and vibe inside. There’s also a nice patio out front. The staff was really friendly and the service was excellent. We started with margaritas and beignets. Then we shared the jumbo shrimp and the flounder. The drinks were great and the food was all delicious. We’ll definitely be back!

We tried the Hugo oysters, jambalaya and the Greek salad with blackened shrimp. Everything was good but the shrimp were lacking the “blackened” seasoning. Also re: the savi b wine there were 2 listed on menu that were offered in a glass but one they were out of and the other was now only offered in a bottle.

Truly an amazing place! The employees are so nice and kind, great with accommodations. The food is sooooo amazing. We had calamari and the beignets for the appetizers and they were so rich with flavor, def a must have. The crab stuffed shrimp was truly savory and delicious. The root beer float for dessert was the best part!! A must have when visiting Georgia.
