Milk & Honey did not disappoint! The gumbo was fire — and that’s coming from someone who’s from New Orleans, so I know good gumbo when I taste it. The flavors were rich, perfectly seasoned, and definitely hit the spot.
The staff was also very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Great service, great food, and a great overall vibe. I’ll definitely be back!

Had a great experience at this Hst location! Wanted a good lunch and decided to visit the Milk & Honey on Hst, since I hadn’t been there in a while (back in November) I remembered how good the food and service was. Again this location did not disappoint, I was greeted by on duty staff as soon as I entered. The gentleman at the cash register was happy to help me decide on what to get. I went with the fish, which was flavorful and came out perfectly cooked and hot!! ( How I like my food). If you want good food on Hst I’d encourage you visit the milk & honey and get the fish & grits! 10/10!

I was looking for a Cajun/southern place for my Fat Tuesday fix and this place did not disappoint! The fried catfish sandwich was fantastic! And they had Hurricanes on the menu for Mardi Gras!! The food was great and the staff were friendly and engaging.

Milk & Honey really impressed me today!
From the front staff to the cook, everyone was pleasant and welcoming. You can tell they genuinely love what they do—nothing but smiles all around.
I placed my order online, and unfortunately one item didn’t show up on their end. Even so, they took the time to try figure out the confusion and made sure I received my missing item without any issues.
Customer service like this is hard to find these days. Location was clean and the ambience was everything.
Everyone was kind, patient, and professional.
I’ll definitely be back!
Thank you,
From CT

Loved this place! Came from Florida, visiting a friend that lives in the area and decided to come by for brunch. I love asking workers about their favorite meal on the menu and Jennifer eagerly described the option I was planning to choose: Crispy Salmon Hash. It was SO GOOD. I also had the Honey Old Bay wings. I would have liked them crispier, but the flavor was really good! My friend had the Smothered Chicken and biscuits. I think the grease needed to be changed out for the chicken and it did affect the flavor a little, but he loved the rest of it. Other than that, great casual vibes. Loved the Soul Christmas playlist going in the background. Would 100% return.

Reservations please. Make sure you make reservations. We are visiting Washington for the Lions vs Commanders and we are just rolling with it. So this was the place we landed on. There was a 20 minute wait for a walk-in then when we were seated our table wasn’t ready it was still dirty, and once it was cleaned off I asked if we could get something to balance our table, the hostess that seated us looked at me agreed walked away and never came back (-5 points for slytherin) waited an additional 7 minutes for our food assistant Yasmineen she was soft spoken but very polite. We ordered our food and everything was delicious the tail of 2 fish is what I wanted and a word of advice get catfish. The whiting was good but the bones is what made me give up. Lol We ended on a good note because of the food.

If you are looking for soul food this is the place to go! I found this place looking for soul food spots in DC via Instagram and me and my boyfriend was definitely satisfied with my brunch. I ordered the Shrimp and grits and he got the French toast. Definitely will come here again!

This place is not what it used to be. Food was unseasoned and underwhelming for $24. There are noticeable staffing issues. Only one lady was working in the store and I waited over 5 minutes just saying “HELLO” until a delivery man came and went to the back to get her. Mind you I preordered thank God I wasn’t in a rush. Furthermore, the chef didn’t follow my directions and added the sauce to the food when I specifically wrote “put it on the side.” Very disappointed since I’ve been here a few months back and the food was completely different in flavor.
