What truly stands out at Canaletto is its location. Situated inside The Venetian, the atmosphere is beautiful and unique, with the canals and the energy of the plaza creating a charming setting. It’s an ideal spot for people-watching, taking photos, and enjoying the Venetian ambiance.
Overall, it’s a good place to stop for a meal with excellent service and an amazing location, even if the food quality can be a bit inconsistent.
We ordered the calamari and octopus as appetizers. Both were yummy!! I got the frutti di mare as my main and shared some butterfly sea bream and pistachio gnocchi. I loved the frutti di mare! The other 2 were just ok in my opinion.
Overall I really enjoyed my meal here!
Service time with the food was quick and the portion size just right. The atmosphere was lovely given the setting and while far from a cheap meal, it didn’t feel outrageous for the level of service. If you’re wanting a proper meal in the area then it’s worth considering.
Their Casonzei which is pear and cheese ravioli is out of this world good. They also have the best tiramisu in Las Vegas.
I had reservations and was immediately sat. I waited and waited and waited for at least acknowledgment and and offer of water, but nothing. It had to be over 5 minutes so I stood up and walked over to a line of waiters standing around and asked if I could have some water please. From there service got better, but this is why they get 3 stars for service.
We both ordered the prawns with pasta, it was delicious. The caper sauce made me eat it all. LOL
The atmosphere, well, speaks for itself with the knock-off of the famous plaza in Venice, Italy, I’ve been there several times and this is pretty authentic. Its the whole reason I picked this restaurant was to “sit outside over looking the plaza.”
Would I come here again, I go every year, something about it.
Ambiance 4/5
Service 2/5
The seating was tight, but it was a beautiful setting, reminiscent of an outdoor patio despite being in the middle of a mall.
The calamari was cooked perfectly. The Ossobuco was decent. My wife’s salmon was good with a delightful sauce.
Unfortunately, the service was lacking. To be clear, it wasn’t all of the servers, just ours. I saw servers at other tables interacting with their tables and checking on them constantly. Meanwhile, our server seemed like he would rather be anywhere else, but there. By the time the meal was over, we were interested in looking at a dessert menu, but after sitting there with empty plates in front of us for 15 minutes, we decided to get the check and leave. It’s funny how sometimes all it takes is one person to leave a stain on an establishment.
