I’ve been coming here since the 90s and it has barely changed. Prices may be the only thing (up! As you’d expect). I suppose I shouldn’t complain since they were so affordable back in the day. The booths and diner counter all look and feel the same, very retro, very diner. A Boise staple. Kind sweet waitress knew how to handle a tired and unresponsive crew like the 4 of us.

A True Boise Gem: The Capri Restaurant

Saturday morning with four friends turned into a delightful reunion when we ran into two more friends at The Capri.

It’s the kind of place where that just happens, a testament to its status as a true Boise institution. This hidden gem on Fairview is a must-visit, and I would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a classic, delicious breakfast or lunch.

Our experience was fantastic from start to finish. Our server was wonderful, attentive, and handled our growing party with grace.

The food was absolutely fantastic; a perfect example of home-style cooking done right. Every dish was full of flavor, and the portions were generous, exactly what you want from a classic diner.

Beyond the delicious food and excellent service, part of what makes The Capri so special is its welcoming atmosphere and traditional feel.

It’s a place that feels like it’s been a part of the community forever, with a sense of history that’s evident the moment you walk in.

The restaurant even has a connection to another local icon, with the two businesses often co-branded and even opening a joint location in Meridian. The Capri is also the proud home of Rudy the Rooster, a beloved Boise icon.

If you’re looking for a taste of old-school Boise with a welcoming atmosphere, fantastic food, and a bit of local charm, The Capri is the place to go. It’s a hidden gem that feels like a warm hug, and it’s a place you’ll want to return to again and again.

Nice enough restaurant, breakfast options are good and priced pretty well. Cowboy potatoes are good and heat up well if you have leftovers. Last time we went our server had on a hat with a political logo emblazoned all over it. We were a little surprised that the management were ok with staff wearing any kind of political attite. Our part immigrant family didn’t really want to be greeted by bigotry with our bacon so we likely won’t visit again.

Capri is a fantastic spot, the real deal when it comes to a classic American diner experience. We absolutely loved the food! We ordered two breakfast specials, and everything was delicious and generously served. The service was great, friendly, fast, and attentive. The atmosphere feels straight out of a movie, truly capturing that authentic American diner vibe. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a genuine and memorable breakfast!

You don’t need a full order of them loaded biscuits and gravy. But you do need some of them loaded biscuits and gravy in your belly.

The perfect diner with great food! I don’t think the interior has changed in 50 years. The service is always good and parking is not a problem.

The best hashbrowns you’ll find in Idaho, period. Absolutely beautiful every time. I’ve had many crappy hashbrowns in Boise, even in Blackfoot while looking at the sign for the potato museum. This place is a gem, don’t miss it when you’re in the Gem State! My hashbrown paradigm is based on Waffle House.

This was my second time trying this restaurant. It’s officially on our “must stop” travel list. The customer service is amazing. Everyone makes you feel like you’re family. ‍ ‍ ‍ They offer large portion sizes, especially the pancakes ! While it’s a small space, we’ve never waited too long. It’s truly a mom and pop type of environment. Definitely support them!

What can I say. IMO,this is one of the top breakfast restaurants. The food never disappoints. Service is personal. Retro old school menu with items you just don’t see in other places. So come early, enjoy your food and eat well. However, that being said, expect a wait in line especially on the weekends. It’s first come first serve seating.
