On our first night in Edinburgh, we walked past The Kukhuri and it smelled absolutely delicious. The restaurant was completely full on a Thursday night, and with our love for Indian and Nepalese food, it was an easy decision to make a reservation for the weekend. A decision we absolutely did not regret, this was by far the best food we had during our trip to Edinburgh.

We ordered for starters the Jhol Momo (wow, absolutely delicious!) and the mixed platter (chicken tikka, seekh kebabs and pakoras). For main we shared the Masu Bhat Tarkari Thali. We asked to replace the lamb in the curry with chicken, which was no problem at all. The food was incredibly tasty and perfectly spiced. This curry was very special!

After finishing, we couldn’t help ourselves and ordered another dish: the Durbar Tikka Masala with garlic naan. Definitely another hit.

Put this place on your must-visit list in Edinburgh, you will not regret it.

The waitresses are genuinely friendly and make you feel really welcome. We had the momo dumplings and the pani puri to start — both delicious. However, my biggest recommendation is to order the 10‑piece dumplings. We only ordered 4 and instantly wished we had more!

We also had two curries with naan and rice & everything was full of flavour with really generous portions.

It’s my second time at this restaurant and honestly still a 10/10 experience!!!

Really enjoyed the food here. Momo were excellent and so freshly made. Staff were friendly and accommodating – they were happy to increase spice levels to fit our personal preference. The thali portion is very generous. Location very close to Haymarket station so perfect for dinner before catching a train. Will be back!

I visited here with work many years ago and whilst staying close for the weekend we returned and it’s still fabulous. Amazing Namchi curry, totally unique flavour to anything I’ve tried before.

Can thoroughly recommend. Excellent value for money.

Popped in this evening for a bite to eat as recommended by a friend. We sure where not dissatisfied, the service was punctual and it was very busy, we understand why. It was the food. We live on the other side of edinburgh, we are surrounded with restaurants. However nothing comes close to this establishment. Super delicious food, and pretty cheap definitely be back for a taste of something else good luck
