A great Japanese restaurant local so you don’t need to drive to Indy. The staff was very friendly greeting us at the door. They serve regular seating kitchen cooked food, grill top table preparation, and sushi. I don’t do sushi so I can’t speak for it but the table service for the grill was great. They’ll do steak, seafood, or chicken and you can mix and match the sushi with the chef cooked food. The place has a good selection of drinks, smoothies and some soda imports from Japan which is a kid pleaser. Honestly, the employees were great here. They are engaging and tactful picking up on hints from customers who enjoy the show but don’t want to participate. Their in house birthday celebration is one of the best. I think we sang happy birthday half a dozen times over the meal, really kind of sets the celebration apart. I like giving business

I really enjoy the food and dinning experience here. I prefer to sit at the grill and watch the performance chef prepare the food, but having lunch in the dining area is also peaceful and pleasant.
My favorite is the chicken and vegetables with fried rice. The proportions are very generous and it is entertaining to watch the food being prepared. The sushi here is also very good and there is a wide variety to choose from.
The service is very polite and professional and your drink and dinning needs are promptly taken care of.
It can get loud on the grill side of the restaurant if several of the eight grills are active at the same time due to the chefs interactions with diners at each grill, but the restaurant side is peaceful and quiet.

Went searching for food on Christmas and thankfully found Taku open. My Las Vegas roll was and they even joined the Christmas spirit. I found it very thoughtful and it helped make my Christmas a little more merry.

July 1 my husband and I visited this location in Kokomo. The dining room was nice and clean and we were sat facing the sushi bar. Specifically we came here for the sushi.
We ordered several rolls and some green tea. The service was lovely and presented the rolls in a very pretty way. I took some pictures. The problem was that the rolls were very small compared to every other sushi restaurant we have gone to. The tea was very nice and tasty. At the end the bill came to close to 80 dollars for what we ordered and we left the restaurant still hungry.
We ended up going to another restaurant to be satisfied. It was a decent experience but we simply cannot afford to eat here and will not be returning. ASide from this the food quality was nice, the food tasted good and the experience was lovely. My only complaint is the portion sizes. Not a good value! Cheers.

I was in town visiting friends who love in the area, and I decided to indulge one day, and I discovered this business.
I decided to order the Lunch special sushi rolls, and got 2 rolls with some soup for $10.95. I decided on the Shrimp Tempura and Spicy Tuna.
The rolls were the perfect size for the occasion, and they both tasted amazing!
The server was attentive and understanding of my questions and needs for my visit.
I ate here on a whim, and I will definitely tell my friends about the great experience I had dining here!

I ordered a cucumber roll and a tempura sweet potato roll, and they allowed me to add cream cheese to them. I also ordered their Mango Tango roll and asked for them to put the shrimp on the side because I don’t eat shrimp. Overall, they were very accommodating. So for this visit, I give the food and the service 5 stars. I ordered takeout, but the restaurant is so pretty that next time I’m going to dine in. Even if it’s just me eating. I definitely recommend this spot if you are in or around the Kokomo area.

In town for the weekend and staying at a hotel in Kokomo. Not from the area. Was looking to grab dinner some place close and bring it back to my hotel. Noticed Taku and it seemed to have good reviews. Placed an online order for pickup. When I arrived to pick up my order, the parking lot was insanely busy. I couldn’t find a good parking spot. I could hardly step inside the front door-BUSY! Good sign I was hoping. I was immediately greeted by the host. Told her I had a pickup order and she had it right there ready to go. Interestingly, the first thing I noticed when I got to my car was how nicely the bag had been packed. Things weren’t just thrown in in the bag, I could tell it was packed with care! Then I noticed the wonderful smell as I was driving back to my hotel. Let me tell you–everything–from the salad (which was packed with the dressing on the side-bonus points), the soup, to the chicken hibachi meal with veggies and steamed rice was sooo good! I am a notorious lover of ‘yum-yum’ sauce, and usually I dump it all over my food so I had ordered some. I ended up only using the tiniest amount! The FLAVOR in my food was so good, I found myself not even wanting the sauce! AND IT WAS TAKE-OUT! Consider my mind blown. I would leave 10 stars if I could! Highly recommend.

Food is always good. Never had a bad experience until tonight. There was a few plates that still had some sort of greasy film on them. I informed the hostess (she has tattoos and piercings) and she became very rude after this and defensive. After that she treated us very short and rudely and what we felt tried to rush us out as quickly as possible. Very bad experience not sure we will be back.

Everytime i have gone there have been some inconsistencies. From the sauce for the food to the service. The first time i went i got the chicken katsu. Extremely good, plenty of sauce in the dish. The second time however there was barely any sauce for my chicken. Then there’s the inconsistencies with the service where they will bring out like one plate at a time and you have to sit there while the rest of the party eats till they bring you yours. Extremely kind staff but that only does so mich for the dining experience.
Also the curry chicken sucks dont get it.

5 stars. I’d put this place up against the hibachi in Indy. They did a nice job setting the place up. The chef that cooked was charming and engaging for my elderly grandmother.
