We were craving spicy food and decided to try Sa-Wad-Dee Thai Restaurant on Saturday, and it was a fantastic choice! The place is very pleasant and cozy- small, comfortable, and not crowded at all, which made for a relaxing dining experience.
The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. We started with the Phuket Bliss and Mango Minty cocktails, which were refreshing along with Thai Dumplings for an appetizer. For the main course, we ordered the Crispy Chicken Basil and Khao Soi, and both dishes were outstanding. The portions were very generous, so much so that we had to ask for to-go boxes.
We regretted not having room for dessert, but that just gives us another reason to come back soon. Highly recommended- we’ll definitely be returning!

The staff here are very efficient and welcoming. I really enjoyed the experience here. Plenty of seating, clean, beautiful decor, amazing food with a large menu variety. You can get alcohol, appetizers, dessert and a fantastic meal. The portions are great and the price is affordable.
The spice is an american scale so be sure to ask for a higher spice level or chili oil on the side if you are fan of the heat like me.

The music, the decorations, and the environment were really amazing and relaxing. The food was beyond exceptional and was easily some of the best Tai food I’ve had in Boise. Really good flavors, really good variety, and really good service. Overall an amazing place!

Food was great, portion was pretty poor for $13 dollars drunken noodles. Keep in mind that the noodles themselves are $10, if you add beef it’ll cost you and additional for protein.
Flavor was awesome no complaints, besides price and portion.

I drive like an hour across town to get to this restaurant because the food is so freaking good. The crab rangoons are fire. I get the same thing every time. Chicken pad Thai spice level 2 and it always slaps. If you’re not trying this place, you’re missing out.

Pros – Nicely varied menu, beautiful restaurant, friendly service, delicious food.
I always order the Penang Curry to evaluate a Thai restaurant. This was a very generously portioned curry with background heat, rich flavor, and a touch of sweetness. Large plump broccoli florets offset a lovely contrast with the reddish-pink hue of the curry. I ordered a side of brown rice, which was deliciously soft and slightly nutty. I ordered just the regular iced tea, but it was quite refreshing with clean flavor. And they offer free refills! I love the attention to detail with the delicately carved lemon slices. The silverware has a good weight to it with a beautiful bamboo pattern. They have very nice heavyweight plastic containers with tight fitting lids to take your extra food home, guaranteed not to spill.

Cons – I was given the choice of steamed or fried tofu, and I opted for the steamed, but unfortunately, my dish was served with the fried tofu. I mentioned this to the server who offered to make the correction, but I told her it was not a problem, and actually, the fried tofu was quite delicious! The prices tend to be on the high side, but I am sure this is to maintain their quality and reputation of being excellent thai cuisine. Plus the bonus of being able to take some home!

We were 6 and ordered all vegan food items.
The service needs to be improved especially the taking of orders. The lady who took our order was not taking orders properly. We ordered for one kind of drink and something else is brought. We mentioned for spice level 3 and we get sweet dishes. Ordered for 2 fresh rolls and got one. This made us wait for the food again and again. And even wait for the staff to come to our table to correct them.
We totally understand the staff shortage and we have patience to wait but taking wrong orders is something needs to be self taken care of.
The fried rice which was just sweet for an order of spice level 3.
Drunken noodles and fresh rolls were good.
Absolutely loved the mock meat from their house speciality menu. Pad phrink king is the one you need to take if you like spice.
The owner was sweet enough to make a non alcoholic Thai drink for us.
Overall food is good but for a table for 6 , having paid 18% service tax definitely needs to be improved.
