There are two of these in Shawnee, this one off of Independence, and one out on the highway.
I ate at both and they’re both excellent!
Food is always hot and fresh and plenty of it.
I always have enough to take home some for later if possible.
I give you salsa and a hot cheese dip complimentary with chips, and a complimentary sopapilla with honey after your meal.
These two restaurants is where you want to eat your Mexican food out when in Shawnee.

Great food, great service. The location is very convenient, though it is sometimes overlooked as it is tucked back in the lot, like a little secret. The secret is this: great dining experience.
The food is really a cut above. Even with the restaurant half-full, they got my order out fast, like before I could even have one tortilla fast. That being said, it was slapped together; the presentation and care was remarkable — here’s to the cooks . I’ve never had something here that wasn’t delicious and cooked traditionally. Other restaurants take short cuts, these guys take the deep cuts back to a true Mexican style (perfect example is those beans!).
The service is exactly what you want: attentive but not aggressive. They made great offers; I took them up on the hot salsa (good choice, as it was so delicious I almost drank it straight from the bowl) and the tortillas (so soft). I refused the sopapilla this time as I was stuffed like the Thanksgiving Day turkey.
It’s everything you could want out of a small town Mexican restaurant.

The wait staff was very friendly and attentive even though we arrived about 30 minutes before their closing time. The fajitas were tender and delicious and the side plate filled with fried potatoes, refried beans, lettuce, guacamole, Pico de Gallo, and sour cream., as well as the warm flour tortillas. It is our new favorite place for Mexican food.

I met my mom and friend for dinner and we didn’t finish our food and got to-go boxes. Food was good and service was okay. I even mentioned how the place was one of my favorites.
I tried my food when I got home and there was a metal piece in it! I asked my mom to look at it and I decided to contact management. I was told there was nothing they could do since I took it home and he “didn’t know if I put anything in it.” The manager offered me another meal which I declined since I was unsure if I would get more food with metal in it. I let him know it was about how unsanitary the food is and I wasn’t trying to get a free meal since my mother paid for all three meals anyway. I let him know that I would not be coming back ever again after he accused me of planting a piece of metal in a meal I took home from the restaurant he manages. I would have liked to see it handled a different way, maybe offering my mother her money back for a terrible meal she paid for. I would not support or suggest this restaurant to anyone after the way the manager spoke to me today. Very rude and unprofessional.

Went here for lunch and got the chile relleno lunch meal. It was delicious. They also have some “special sauce” that is to die for. Highly recommend. Also like the fact that they serve potatoes with some dishes.

Sorry for the plate pic. That is what’s left of the spicy pork #75. Pretty good food here and the “special salsa” is pretty tasty! Everyone at the table enjoyed the food. Not very impressive from the outside, but food is the true test of a restaurant! Worth a try!

Arrive at 11 am for lunch with my mother. I chose not to participate after being sat at our table. The table they sate us at was dirty, when we asked to have it wiped off we were met with a glare from the waitresse. The food was bland at most no real favor. Over all dissatisfied.
