Social Profile:

Even before there was a Little Ethiopia in Los Angeles, it was our mission to bring true Ethiopian Style cuisine to the residents and visitors of LA and surrounding cities. Our dishes have always been crafted from authentic recipes, full of delicious flavor. A Messob is a traditional Ethiopian breadbasket that is interchangeably used as a communal dinning table as well as an Injera storing utensil.

Guests eat with their hands at this casual spot featuring both traditional vegan & meat stews.

The service was exceptional, the food was prepared perfectly and the whole spread was delicious!!! We did our best to clear the plate, sharing a two person meal between three and it was plenty. I will definitely return and highly recommend Messob for Ethiopian cuisine while you’re in Los Angeles.

Having grown up in the Bay Area I have eaten a lot of Ethiopian food and love it! I thought the food here to be very alright though and the portions incredibly small for the price. Would have loved more combination platters. The food overall wasn’t very good and I was pretty disappointed.

We went for a late lunch so the restaurant was empty. The staff were lovely, taking time to explain some things about their culture. The food was amazing.

Was there with one other person. We ordered and shared the doro wot and a lamb dish. Both were fantastic and served over injera, making it very easy to share. Portions were very reasonable. I felt full but we did not have any leftovers. It took a couple minutes for us to be seated, but we showed up at an odd time and I don’t hold that against them (We were the only ones in the restaurant when we showed up). Would highly recommend and would go back if we are in the area.

I was very upset coming here we ordered samosa and they served every one before us that came after us the cost of 2 tej was $24 and the food portion is very small and we wanted to leave and only pay for the drinks the lady wouldn’t let us. The guy owner does favoritism for the people he knows and neglects his other customers. Very unprofessional Ethiopian house. They got are stuff wrong still didn’t offer any discounts other places to go around there don’t waste your time here. Ty

I think my favorite spot in little Ethiopia?
We were a group of four, and we ordered the vegetarian combo with a number six to add on, some beef tips. This was enough for the four of us for sure and everyone was satisfied with the meal. I thought some of the vegetable dishes were cold, but other than that everything was extremely tasty. The Decour is nice, but service It is incredibly slow. However I can say that the manager warned us of this when we sat down and asked us to be patient. So, I do appreciate that, but waiting 45 minutes for a meal is a lot. We ordered the samosas while we waited, but the samosas also took 35 minutes to come out. I recommend this place, just knowing that the service is slow.

Delicious food, just great tasting dishes if you like Ethiopian. We can with a large group, so it was a lengthy wait before they took our order, and a longer wait before the food arrived (~1hr). But that said, I’m happy they were able to accommodate and the food was delicious!

First experience in trying eithopian food and didn’t disappoint at all.
A very cozy restaurant, service is a little slow but overall was a nice experience.
We ordered sambusa for appetizer and it was different compared to indian Samosa as it was made of lentils.
The food is really not spicy at all. The vegan combo of collards, cabbage, chana dal and some red curry made of lentils was really nice with the injera.
The baklava was however just ok.
Would totally recommend for first time experience.

Amazing traditional experience! Food was amazing and staff was kind as well! Good portions and food was really fresh. Me and my partner for the vegetarian special for 2 And it was over filling!
The interior is also really beautiful and fantastic! Loved the ceilings and much as the wall decor!
Will defiantly be back with more friends!

We came 222 Messob for a late dinner. They could have denied us service as we arrived at 9:35pm and they closed at 10pm, but they didn’t. They welcomed us into the most culturally rich & warm environment where they would serve us delicious cuisine! Our experience was so lovely start to finish. We really appreciated that the menu was thorough in description of the dishes & the dining etiquette. Our food was perfectly nourishing & so tasty. We celebrated my cousin’s birthday & it was his first time having Ethiopian food. he hardly said much and remained focused on eating his meal, but he was definitely smiling in awe at his experience the entire time. Thank you 222 all the wonderful women that provided great service and made sure we were enjoying our dinner. What a pleasure!
