DOG FRIENDLY….. In 2 places. Completely outside with a gazebo deal and an inside with one of those glass sunroom deals. Not sure I’ve seen a place with dual dog friendly spots.
I really really liked this place. Met some relatives here. This place has a wall full of awards as best place for MULTIPLE years running. It’s sports bar-ish inside but way nicer. Has a neighborhood pub feel to it. If I lived anywhere close this place would be in regular rotation.
I got the pork schnitzel. Came with this incredible warm German potato salad which is one of my fave sides I’ve ever had. Sauerkraut was good. Schnitzel was perfect. Wish it had been larger but that’s probably a personal problem. Also had a root beer on draft!
My dining partners had bratwurst platter and a burger. They all agreed it was excellent. They have a pretty extensive beer and cider list but it’s one of those online deals and I just didn’t have my phone but my relative was quite impressed.
We consider dessert but didn’t get it but it was funnel cake, german chocolate cake and a cheesecake.

Hades hot sauce get 5 star
Burger gets 2 stars. It had 2 paddies. One was shaped more like a meatball and both were crested with a layer of burnt meat.

The food was really good. We each tried a different burger and enjoyed how they were different from the typical offerings around the area.
Our first server was having some issues, but we give grace and roll with whatever is happening. The server we had at the end was absolutely delightful. She is the real winner of the entire night. I would consider giving her a kidney. Not my own. We will absolutely be back.

The service here was amazing and food was great! I do feel there should be a better combo pricing option. Menu states “make your meal a combo for x amount” but it’s the price of a side on its own.
For one person burger and fries with water it was over $20.

I had onion rings and a sonneburger with turkey and hubby has the small house salad and an order of wings. All delish. He enjoyed get bent draft and I had the whiskey and apple cider special cocktail, again both delicious. The waitress Keeleh and the cook were very attentive to my newly diagnosed Alpha gal concerns. Very kind. Thanks so much.

Went with my pregnant wife and the server just disappeared after getting us drinks. Eventually we just put a $5 down and walked out. Sent feedback to management on their website but they couldn’t be bothered to respond. What a shame because Forest really needs good dining options.

We asked to hang a Lynchburg youth symphony orchestra poster here- apparently it’s 40$ a week charge to hang a poster- For the community, for a nonprofit youth program. We haven’t been back since and have shared as well with friends. Disappointed in the lack of community engagement and support of local youth. We were regular customers previously but this was very disappointing and we go to Benjamin’s for our burgers now.

Good burgers, being able to get pork belly on them is nice, onion rings are very good, and the cheesy fries are super cheesy. The wings are good, with decent flavor… but (see below)
Problems:
Feet stick to the floor as soon as you walk in. Tables are poorly cleaned, many with trash left beneath even after cleaning. Even at 25% full; we had about a 10 minute wait to get a seat; which still had to be cleaned off before we could be seated. The idle staff (which was plentiful) could have been cleaning up.
No napkins or silverware on the table or provided. I had to ask for both after receiving food. As I mentioned the burgers are good (not sure they are $12 good, but they are good)
The wings are are also “good”, however their “hotter than hades” wings are barely even spicy, and comparable to Bojangles spicy chicken in heat. They should rename them as they are not remotely as hot as their namesake. I even had to ask the waitress if they gave me the wrong order, but she assured me that they were “hotter than hades” …pfft
3 burgers and sides took close to 30 minutes or so to arrive. The steak quesadillas took over 45 minutes to arrive (we had finished eating by the time that party member received their food.
Final thoughts:
Come here for the Beer and TV; and maybe have some food. The appetizers are great! However, if you are wanting to dine out with gourmet burgers that are worth $12, there are better options in the area with better atmosphere and service.

Food was delicious. Place looked incredible. But the service was just O. K.
Our server didn’t check on us until we were all done. Didn’t bring the sauces we requested and didn’t refill our drinks.
If the place was super packed I could see why they forgot, but it wasn’t that busy.
I would definitely go again in the future because like I said, the food was delicious.

Wonderful customer service! We didn’t have to wait to be seated long. Great great atmosphere for a gastro pub. I’m sure this place will be very nice during warmer weather to sit outside. I thought the food was good. I really enjoyed the salad and cocktails.
