The food is excellent and came out piping hot (so hot we needed to wait). The Braised Tofu was homemade, and the Beef Chow Fun was very well seasoned. We also ordered the Salt and Pepper Calamari and the portion was generous for $12. One complaint is that the meal portion sizes are on the smaller side. The Beef and Broccoli was $19 and the plate wasn’t filled (See Picture). The Clay Pot Beef Short Ribs with Asparagus also came out on a tin foil covered plate. Also note white rice does not come with any dish and is $1 per bowl.
The service was mixed as our waiter was tired and not very friendly, but the busboy was attentive and kind.

We love Chinese Restaurants! This was my third visit to Yummy House with friends. My previous visits to the Dale Mabry and Hillsborough branches were great, so we came back expecting the same experience. Unfortunately, this time was very disappointing.
Our server, Kim, had a very poor attitude—unfriendly and unhelpful. I requested simple changes due to allergies and asked for recommendations, but she ignored the request and seemed unwilling to help. My vegetarian friends also faced the same response when asking for basic modifications like no eggs .
We come to restaurants to enjoy good food and make memories, not to be treated this way. Being charged a default 20% tip for such service is unacceptable. Very disappointed. never coming here again and will make sure my friends don’t come too . Food quality was poor compared to my previous experience too , as there was sand in the greens !!

Yummy House South China Bistro on N Dale Mabry is hands-down one of the best authentic Chinese restaurants in Tampa. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt inviting and elevated — warm lighting, modern décor, and an open-concept layout with plenty of comfortable seating. The dining room is spacious but still cozy, creating the perfect ambiance for a relaxing meal.
The staff here is exceptional. Our servers were incredibly attentive, constantly making sure our glasses stayed full, our table remained clean, and that we had everything we needed. It’s rare to find a restaurant where the service feels both efficient and genuinely caring — but Yummy House delivers every time.
Now, the food… absolutely phenomenal. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and expertly prepared. We ordered the Orange Chicken, Chicken and Broccoli, Jasmine Tea, and an outstanding crispy octopus dish bursting with flavor and topped with fresh scallions and aromatics. Each dish came out hot, beautifully presented, and full of authentic flavors that you won’t find at your typical takeout spot. You can tell immediately that the ingredients are high quality and the chefs really take pride in their craft.
One small tip: parking is limited, so plan to arrive a little early — but it’s absolutely worth it.
If you’re looking for real Chinese cuisine with amazing service and a welcoming dining environment, Yummy House South China Bistro is the place to go. Easily a 5-star experience from beginning to end. Highly recommend!

My dining experience at Yummy House on N Dale Mabry was fantastic. As soon as we walked in, the staff was extremely courteous and welcoming. Even without a reservation, they were kind enough to seat us right away, making us feel very comfortable.
The restaurant has a great decor and atmosphere. It was nice and quiet, which made it easy to have a good conversation without shouting. The whole setting was very relaxing and enjoyable.
The food was absolutely amazing. We tried the Fried Eggplant, Sesame Chicken, Fried Pork Rice, and Garlic Chicken. Every dish was delicious. The portion sizes were also very large, meaning you get great value for the price. I highly recommend visiting Yummy House!

I heard from friends that this is a good place to eat and try some dim sum. I came in with my family, and were seated at a table immediately. We ordered our food, and only waited for a little, and got our food. The food was absolutely amazing, and definitely priced reasonably. Definitely recommend for anyone!

We love to sit somewhere for afternoon tea and a bite to eat, this was a great spot. Extensive menu of Dim Sum and lunch specials plus a whole other menu. We tried the spicy yummy chicken which was really good, lightly fried chicken in a spicy sauce. We also tried the egg custard tarts which were delicious. The food was a little salty if you don’t like strong flavors. I didn’t care for the beef lunch special. The portions were good and the prices are reasonable.

Yummy House is great overall – good food, excellent service, calm atmosphere. We came in for dim sum and tried out some of the dishes. The oil was a bit old on the fried taro, but we did come at the last hour before they closed for lunch. The fried turnip and BBQ pork rice rolls were great. The beef chow fun was our favorite. Overall definitely a recommended spot for a more classy dim sum and Cantonese food experience!

It’s no frills, straight to the point dim sum which – as a Chinese person – is all I really need. The food is flavorful, and it is clearly steamed to order so every dish we got was fresh and hot. They have pretty much all the staples of a dim sum place, but even less popular dishes like chicken feet have great flavor and texture.

I lived in Hong Kong for a few years so I’m always looking for authentic Chinese restaurants, especially for Dim Sum. This place is authentic! The dumplings were delicious. I tried a scallop dumpling which I’ve never seen before and it was awesome. The noodles which I ordered were also outstanding. The service was top-notch. They checked on us constantly. I would definitely recommend this place.
