La Maizon is BRILLIANT. Whether you want a quick drink, a leisurely lunch or a romantic dinner, there is something here for you.
Along with some community/group events, this establishment is trying to give something for everyone and, IMHO, they are succeeding. There’s also an intriguing little shop for local artisans, with sales of candles, ceramics, pictures etc. The candles in particular, when tested at home, kept the aroma all the way down the candle, a lovely yet unusual treat as most don’t. Aggie, the candle-maker and Restaurateur, told us the secret …. Which is…… Secret…..

Varied menu to suit all tastes – the cauliflower and blue cheese soup was magnificent and the steak matched it – so tender and tasty. Staff were faultless and very attentive – obviously a good team as they work seamlessly together. We stopped off for lunch after a Google search to see what was nearby – right place right time lucky find. Will return without doubt.

We had a lovely meal in La Maizon yesterday. I had the best soup that I have ever had in a restaurant . it was coriander and carrot, thick and creamy texture. Next I had a vegan spinach and chickpea curry with cauliflower rice. also very good.

I am well known amongst family for being parsimonious with praise for restaurants, but this place gets full marks. I had a chicken burger and it was all fresh and perfectly cooked and seasoned. Recommended.
