An American Bistro punctuated with a hint of Northern Italian flair. Our seafood is fresh, our steaks are hand cut, and all our sauces, dressings and desserts are made from scratch. The atmosphere here is unique! We’re located on the terrace level, beneath School Street Playhouse. (Hence the name “Backstage”). The old schoolhouse was built in 1923 and is on the National Registry of Historic Places. Tam’s Backstage (opened in 2005) is a rare find and a “must try!” Serving lunch, dinner, private parties and more. We’ve become known as one of the largest caterers in north Georgia!

We had our HOA Christmas dinner there. Atmosphere was good in the upstairs dining area. Our HOA associates did a great job planning and decorating. We had preset menu selections. Food quality was ok but served stone cold. Tasted as if were prepared much earlier and sat on a cold plate. No water, no butter for the bread and overall poor service for an $80 meal. Salad was awful iceberg lettuce and very plain. Regular dining there is probably great but they are not a place to go for a large crowd. I could have gotten a hot meal and good service at Outback for $30. As a restaurant owner or chef, if you aren’t capable or prepared to serve a group dinner with the same service and quality as your normal guests, you should turn down the business.

Tam’s Backstage Restaurant never disappoints every visit is a fantastic experience. The atmosphere is welcoming, the food is consistently great, and the service truly sets this place apart. The servers are always wonderful, friendly, and attentive.
This most recent visit was especially memorable thanks to our server, Madison. He was amazing from start to finish kind, professional, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. To top it all off, Madison paid for our meal, which completely blew us away and showed just how much heart and generosity the staff here has.

I used Tam’s to cater my parents’ 55th Wedding Anniversary and it was a great experience, from my initial interactions with Lisa, the Banquet Manager, to the delivery and setup of the food.
The quality of the food was excellent and the quantity was generous -we had leftovers after feeding 25 people. I felt that the cost per person was reasonable, especially considering that it included the utensils, sterno fuel, and stands.
I highly recommend considering Tam’s for your catering needs.

Absolutely wonderful dining! Stopped for a late lunch had salads and pastas. Also tried the Lobster bisque, it was amazing. Can’t say enough. Make sure you check out the museum upstairs, and book tickets for an upcoming event!

Amazing place. Had the baked stuffed flounder was delicious. Affordable and you get great value for your money. Awesome place whether it’s a special occasion or just casual dinner.
