All around wonderful place. Great high quality food, feels like a fun diner. Good comes out pretty fast, and the workers have always been very kind, as well as patient while we check out the large menu. The menu is so diverse that I can always find something that in the mood for!

I stopped by on my way back to LA and grabbed a steak sandwich. This was a great deal as it was a properly prepared steak not just a grilled piece of meat. The flavors were good and the iced tea was fresh.

Had the steak and eggs with a side salad instead of hashbrowns and it was all very good. Loved that I was able to substitute the hashbrowns for the salad at no extra cost. The salad was so fresh, lettuce crispy, tomatoes firm yet juicy and the croutons fresh too, had it with ranch dressing which was bomb too, creamy not watery ..and last but not least the cashier was very nice and got my order correct in the drive thru, no wait at all, maybe bcs it was a Sunday morning .

Large selection of food on their menu, and everything we ordered appeared freshly made. We had the bacon cheeseburger & the steak sandwich (I think that’s what it was called). The burger was great! I wasn’t the biggest fan of the steak, not “bad” I’ll just try something else next time. But the FRIES were perfection! That outweighed any negative feeling I had from the sandwich lol. The staff working the drive through were polite, and gave us ranch without us having to ask!

My family and I love coming to Tom’s! We always get the four double cheese-burger combo for $32.99. In San Diego, $8 for a whole burger combo is practically unheard of. It tastes good, is super cheap, and has a cute diner vibe.
Bonus points for customizable milkshakes (I love strawberry Oreo) and an ADORABLE robot that delivers your food sometimes!

I asked twice if they heard bacon on the grilled cheese (she was too busy talking throughout the entire order, to other people) she said yes. I got this garbage. They clearly cooked it realized they didn’t put bacon on it peeled the bread back threw bacon on. But the bread stuck to the cheese. I honestly don’t know how you mess up the easiest thing to make. And it would have cost them all of maybe $1 to remake, instead of sending this trash out. Esp after I made sure to ask before the order was made, to make sure this didn’t happen. Waste of food. And waste of employers money to employ such lazy rude and embarrassing staff. it’s not like it’s a nice place i wasn’t expecting 5 stars but it’s bread cheese and bacon, how…. and the fries were beyond stale. Like days old. Trash

This was my first time eating at Tom’s Famous Family Restaurant. I have a persnickety stomach, so the lady who took our order helped me to decide what to order. The line was long because it was Sunday of the Memorial Day holiday! She was extremely patient with this 75-year-old lady! I ordered a dinner salad, grilled cheese sandwich, and onion rings! She said, “Ma’am, let’s order a grilled cheese sandwich combo with onion rings & an unsweetened iced tea which is cheaper and pay extra for a dinner salad!” I went to my table 13. To my surprise, a robot, Kitty, brought our food, thanked us for choosing to eat at Tom’s, and wished us a great rest of the day! That made my day! My companions had a cheeseburger w fries, a hamburger w fries, and a strawberry waffle! My order was too much to eat, so I took half of everything home. I am relaxing and finishing my food as I write this this review! Kudos to the owners and staff for a pleasant Sunday afternoon outing! ✔️✝️

Pulled up thru drive thru – pretty quick to get order. Shocked when I saw the receipt that was $5 over the actual price. When asked about the error they claimed the drive thru menu wasn’t updated yet. When asked to get the price corrected the stories kept changing, then they would only give a refund rather than correct the charge to keep a customer happy. I don’t get it!
