I was in Lawrence, KS for work and decided to stop into Dempsey’s Pub for dinner. Stellar atmosphere, great food and as a bonus they have Happy Dad Hard Seltzers! Highly recommend this place!

Smash burgers are the best I’ve had in years. They are served on a soft brioche bun which elevates the taste, perfect melted cheese and fresh burger. The fries are outstanding and the pretzels with pub cheese is excellent. I recommend getting extra cheese! I’ll drive that 1.5 hours to go back.

I Google’d the best burger in Lawrence and Dempsey’s Burger Pub came up on top… Unfortunately, my experience tonight was not the same as other reviewers!
The smash burger was just OK. Nothing special and was delivered to me 10 minutes before the truffle fries that I ordered. I was told the frier was “backed up.” When I finally got my truffle fries.. they were tasteless and soggy, had NO truffle oil or Parmesan cheese on them at all, in fact, I had to salt them myself for some sense of seasoning.
Very disappointing especially for 6 o’clock on a Saturday night.

Had the Thai PBB Burger cooked medium rare, and it actually came out perfectly. Also got the Garlic Cheese Curds. They brought out an extra by accident and let us keep it, which was a great move and made a good impression. We ordered an Irish Car Bomb, but it came in plastic cups, which was not the best experience, though after a long day it still hit the spot. I had a Mezcal Old Fashioned too, which was really well balanced and went great with the meal.
Even with a sorority social going on and the place being packed, we got seated quickly, served often, and taken care of really well by Ryan H. Definitely coming back and would highly recommend.

I LOVE this place. It has a great indoor and outdoor environment. Good beers on tap including local Boulevard beers and Irish style beers like Guinness. The truffle fries are absolutely amazing and they have 6 or so options for dipping sauces. They also have their own house made ketchup that’s amazing. The burgers options are interesting and so good! I got the Phog burger which has mac n cheese on it. They’ve also got a Peanut Thai burger and a Hot Hawaiian burger as well. Highly recommend this place!

My kids and I decided to try Dempsey’s Irish Pub for takeout this past Sunday evening, and we were not disappointed! We opted for a pickup, and the process was smooth and efficient
The staff was friendly and had our order ready right on time. They were courteous and made sure we had everything we needed before we left. It was clear they take pride in their work and care about their customers.
Ordered Egg Burger and House Burger cooked medium. Delicious, although House Burger was a little dry my daughter thought. The portions were generous! Did not come with a side.
Our experience with Dempsey’s Irish Pub in Lawrence, KS. Can’t complain, the food was really good. The convenience of the pickup option, combined with the delicious food and great service, made for a wonderful evening. Spent about $35 on two burgers.
We will go back and highly recommend it to others looking for great pub meal in Lawrence.

French fry heaven, cool atmosphere, and sometimes a seasonal pop-up bar. An array of gourmet hamburgers, wide selection of french fries and dipping sauces, wings and sandwiches. I was pleased with the quality of the burgers, and the quantity of fries was actually overwhelming. They are a “sports bar first,” so be prepared to let local games take center stage, even in pop-up season. You get more than you pay for at reasonable prices.
