Lark Creek Grill at San Francisco Bruno Airport was a wonderful surprise and easily one of the best dining options I found in any US airport. I ordered the salmon—grilled perfectly—along with chicken breast and swapped the rice for extra vegetables on the side. The salmon blended beautifully with the creamy mushroom white sauce described on their menu, making for a rich yet balanced dish.

I paid around $60 including tip, and I left feeling full and very satisfied. Honestly, I don’t understand the low ratings some give it due to price. Compared to other airport food options I’ve had in the US, this is great value for the quality and the experience. Sure, there are cheaper, simpler options, but here you get high-quality ingredients and a proper sit-down setting—not just grab-and-go.

My server Tracy added to the experience with her lively, positive, and attentive service. She’s clearly an asset to the restaurant and made my meal even better.

It was a long line waiting for weekday lunch. There was a large display to preview the menu. The decorations looked modern. There was a full bar with TVs. Breakfasts were served until 2pm. The smoked salmon came with onions and tomatoes in toasted bagel. The clam chowder had a lot of ingredients and tasted great. The half chicken came with rice and vegetables, and a side salad. The pasta primavera had those vegetables listed.

we ordered buffalo wings, nachos, and fish tacos.

buffalo wings – clearly frozen, offputting taste, not crunchy at all. veggie sides were pathetic: three pieces of celery and a slice of lettuce. at least the chicken arrived piping hot with steam coming off.

nachos – we ordered the vegetarian one, without beans. glad they listened to our request. pretty hard to mess up nachos, it tasted decent.

fish tacos – not bad, but the only thing i could taste was the guac and cilantro. the fish was mildly seasoned, slightly spicy, but the guac and cilantro were quite overpowering. i recommend adding sour cream to the fish tacos, its more delicious thay way.

nobody expects airport food to be good, and its always gonna be overpriced. this restaurant is no exception: it’s mid and overpriced. however, the front of house staff are nice and accommodating with requests, and i respect the kitchen staff for working long shifts and cooking food fast. the wait for food after sitting down was not as bad as other airport restaurants ive dined at.

Really good for airport food! (Reasonably priced and tastes as good as outside the airport) plus friendly and fast service. My preferred priority pass place now 🙂

It was great being able to spend 30 bucks getting a delicious meal of salmon and vegetables in a cream sauce rather than a crappy burger . Their wings were bomb. I found the staff to be attentive and really hard working . They made sure I had enough time to eat and make my flight . You see those free moist towelettes ? Thats classy right there . I know McDonald’s doesn’t give ‘em out . Always be classy .

It was so terrible experience.
Some of Servers were so rude.
I’m not sure it was racist or not.(we were Asian group)
They didn’t serve bagic utilities like fork and knife. Because of that, we have to wait a few minutes to eat our dishes. It was so weird and ridiculous.
And they also didn’t handle our dishes carefully. I remember he was a tall man wearing a mask and he put our dishes like throwing.
And while diner, someone hit my chair and he just say “sorry”. Only this.

And my Coca-Cola was so terrible. It tasted like tap water. How?

Overall, it was the worst.

Quality. That’s the word for this place.

Great food and service.

Today I ordered a burger and asked for it rare, but I came well done. But this is a 5-star review for a reason.

Everyone makes mistakes. How you handle them is what makes the difference. The manager saw I was unhappy just by the look on my face, and when I said my burger was overcooked he was more upset than I was. Honestly I would have just finished it and not said anything, but he insisted on replacing it for me. The second one was excellent and perfectly cooked.

They go the extra mile. When I fly out of SFO I like to come to the airport early just to post up here for a burger and a cocktail before a flight, and the outstanding customer service as well as delicious food makes Lark Creek Grill an absolute gem of a restaurant, especially for an airport bar & grill.

One of the most ridiculous service experiences I’ve ever had. Won’t be back.

The host was friendly, but it all went downhill after I sat down.

I wanted the half chicken dish, but the side items listed for it on the menu seemed a bit odd. The server (never offered his name, but he was a tall East Asian man in a mask) failed to help me understand the overall set up/flavor profile and even seemed a little annoyed that I asked, so I just asked for the pickled onions to be on the side. Easy fix for everyone.

Before I even had a water on the table, this server not only brings a side bowl of onions out — Uh… Okay?? I did not ask for them early, just on the side — but he also set the bowl down on the opposite side of the table from me (see image).

I thought maybe it was a fluke, but then he sat the wine I ordered down in the same spot! Later he’d do the same for my water, then a straw, which he flung on that side of the table instead of handing to me.

I had nothing in front of me on the table except my phone, and definitely not a force field.

At this point it felt legitimately disrespectful in a super passive aggressive way, and if that was his intent I have no clue how we got off on the wrong foot. The vibe was now completely off and I was wishing I had just gone to Burger King up the hall.

To boot, that table faces a dirty dish drop area that was piling up in the open instead of being taken to the dish pit, so flies were also dining in with us. In fact, a fly found its way over to those random onions at the other edge of the table. Gross.

So I asked the host to move me to the bar side on the opposite end. There were a pair of 2-seater booths open that would’ve been perfect, but the host suggested I sit at a high top counter connected to a wall under the TV. ????

There was no line and the place was maybe 70% full, but for some reason he acted like he couldn’t give me what looked like the best seat in the house for a party of one. Okay fine. At least there were easy reach outlets to charge my phone, no filthy dishes or flies to look at, and no weird server.

The countertop is probably fine if every other table is taken but you’re hungry or in a hurry, however, I wanted to actually relax after a busy trip and ahead of a 5 hour red eye. Instead I felt like I was in timeout since all I could see was the wall under the TV.

I should’ve asked to move again but I didn’t wanna feel like trouble and overcomplicate what was shaping out to be a high stress experience.

While the rest of the crew seemed nice and professional enough, that server gets a 0/10 for me. And we just need the friendly host to make more mindful decisions for guest comfort as far as where to seat people.

Food was okay, pretty mid. Needed more seasoning. Plenty better options in SFO.
