All staff were incredibly nice but the food was not so great. It had clearly all been sitting out for a while and was just giving ‘from the packet’ vibes. I have attached photos but the chicken? The Gyozas? Literally look like they straight out the packet from a ‘ready to eat’ from Asda. Not the best Wagamamas and won’t be going again

Love a Wagamamas and went to try the Winchester branch for lunch and utterly disappointed.
We were served a dish with hair in the food in which we informed the waiter about this and they just swapped the food as if it was nothing – they were still going to charge us! I had to ask for it to be removed as we were completely put off the dish.
I have an allergy and asked to check if it’s possible to swap with an alternative ingredient, to which I was never informed if they were able to swap so assumed all was okay and when I began to enjoy the product it instantly came to my attention that I had been given the original ingredient!!! Asked for tap water was charged full price for bottled water. Very lovely interior and quick service for too, just a huge shame about such a shambolic experience. We weren’t compensated on anything reg the hair dish and would have thought maybe we would be as quite an unpleasant situation to experience. We left feeling quite shocked and disappointed in this branch as we have previously had such. Wonderful experience a few months ago there.

Second visit here but there seems to have been a huge hike in the prices! £75 for two main meals, three sides and two pints of beer… I don’t mind paying if it’s value for money – this is way off the mark in IMO.

I would also add that the portion sizes seem to be smaller too. Even with a blue light discount, I will not be returning.

I would say the service was very good and the food was as good as expected, although less off it.

We called in for dinner and was greeted by Meghan who then showed us to a table returning after a few minutes to take our order..
She was extremely helpful and caring as we weren’t familiar with the menu..Even bringing me a knife unpromted as I had ordered steak..
Food arrived promptly and was delicious apart from the steak being rather chewy..
Overall, great service, nice food beautiful venue..

Came in with family today for a meal and have to say I could not be happier we chose wagamamas. Food was delicious and served quickly but the star of the show was the service.

Staff were all attentive, friendly and efficient. Our server Aline was fantastic. Checking we were all OK and enjoying our meal aswell as interacting with my 1.5 year old daughter. Made the whole evening so much better and genuinly very impressed with how she acted bith with professionalism anf kindness.

Accessibility was great. I have a broken leg and can’t manage stairs yet. We asked if they have an accessible entrance and the staff couldn’t be more accommodating. Showed us to a side entrance where a ramp was put in place. Choice of table to be most comfortable at, and then after we had paid the ramp was already waiting for us – no need to even ask. Nice big accessible toilet too.

Aside from that the food was also great!

We had booked a table for 8 of us for a family birthday celebration lunch. Some of our party were late arriving but the staff were very understanding and let us have the table for an hour before ordering our food. James, our server, was friendly and funny and kept us supplied with drinks and snacks until we were all together and ready to order. The food was delicious as always and the meat-eaters, pescatarians and vegetarians were all pleased with their choices. Thank you! And see you again soon…

Went for a casual lunch with my best mate- we are regular customers as we like to have our weekly catch ups. However we were stunned to find out that we couldn’t order the child sized portion off the children’s menu. My friend has severe gastritis and distress so can only eat certain food types and portion sizes. The server Lois insisted that she must be of 13 years of age or younger to order- despite her ordering off the children’s menu before in various locations. This is not the service we expected from Wagamamas, as we understand there is no age limit as you get what you pay for: a child size portion. When the food arrived the chicken was cold in the middle of both the gyozas and chicken katsu. There was bit bits of uncooked onion in the gyozas which put me off eating any more. Really disappointed:(

We have dined at Wagamama Winchester a number of times in the past, which made our recent experience all the more disappointing.

As a family of three who were going to order a full meal, shortly after being seated, we were told by a young member of staff that our four-year-old daughter was not allowed to continue eating a small Jude’s ice cream she was already halfway through.

What made this particularly uncomfortable was the practical reality of the situation. This was not a packet of snacks that could simply be put away. It was a melting ice cream being eaten by a young child.

We fully appreciate that restaurants have policies. However, the complete lack of flexibility or situational judgement in this moment felt unnecessarily rigid and not especially family-friendly. We ultimately chose to leave without ordering.

This experience has unfortunately changed how we feel about visiting in future.

Always enjoy the food at Wagamamas and was not left disappointed today. A hot bowl of goodness when it was freezing outside.
Waitress was great but dropped a star as we were not able to get our bill to leave and had to go to the bar.
