A very cozy diner in Old Brooklyn, a working class neighborhood on Cleveland’s West side. The food was delicious, but my waitress was not overly attentive. I had to go up to the counter to request additional salad dressing and hot sauce. The waitress was kind, just not attentive. The prices were decent for the amount of food received. I would go back again.

Diner portions, diner flavor. The City Diner is legit. The place is a bit plain and the pancakes could be a bit fluffier, but the price and portion of the menu items are very good. The sausage gravy and eggs featured a smooth gravy and light and crispy biscuits. That alone would have fed is well, but I also ordered a side of their homemade CB hash and a short stack of pancakes, which simply left us stuffed. Our waitress was kind and fast, and my wife’s cup of tasty coffee was never empty. If you want a little slice of a NY diner in Cleveland, you’ve got it here!

Great food! Parking lot is a bit tight. Once inside it is very roomy. Cool bar. I ordered the meatloaf dinner, with mashed potatoes and Green beans, and the soup (vegetable). We were told the owners cook all the food there. Veggie soup came up first and it was really good. Had a nice spice to it and fresh cut vegetables. Meat loaf came up next. The patties were thin like a hamburger patty. However it was definitely meatloaf. Brown gravy tasted homemade to me. The mashed potatoes had a garlic kick. The green beans were good also. Everything was fantastic. After dinner was told the diners came with pudding. I got lemon. It was serve chilled and had great flavor. You can’t beat the price for the amount of food you get. And the service was great also. Highly recommend.

City Diner absolutely nails breakfast. The selection is solid, the portions are generous, and the prices are very fair. The country fried steak and eggs were cooked perfectly—crispy, tender, and exactly what you want with a classic breakfast. Simple, satisfying, and done right. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re hungry.

Our breakfast was amazing! Plentiful servings cooked to perfection! The pineapple ham was delicious, the pork chops and eggs were tender and the perfect amount of spice. The breakfast bowl was a great blend of all my breakfast favorites covered with sausage gravy. Service was spot on. Pricing was fair for the generous portions. We can’t wait to go back!

2 stars is generous. We were seated quickly. Everything ordered for breakfast can simply be made at home. The total came to $40 and it was not worth that much.
The pancakes weren’t moist at all, you can tell it was made with batter and water. You have to drench the pancakes in syrup. The eggs were not flavorful, I asked for eggs scrambled with cheese. They put a slice over the eggs. The sausage wasn’t homemade, again the food made was similar to how you would make it at home.
The Mexican skillet was not seasoned, it was supposed to have chorizo in it for the spice but it was no where near spicy. They put A LOT of peppers to “makeup” for the spiciness. It was not seasoned, it was topped with eggs instead of it being an even mix of eggs, chorizo, potatoes, peppers and cheese. Unfortunately I would not recommend coming to this diner for breakfast.

Always order in DoorDash. Decide to take my mom for her birthday. Soon as we walk in we were greeted by the hostess with a warm friendly smile. Everyone who we walk past welcome us in with a bright smile. You do not get that type of hospitality from servers any more especially in big chain restaurants. I truly appreciate the warmth we felt walking to our table. The service and food were great. Biting into the club sandwich was so filling and the fries are always crispy to perfection. I definitely will be going back with the little ones on my next trip. Parking lot is a little tight and parking does go fast. There is a big lot across the street to park in, if you don’t mind a little walk. I believe the owner or maybe the manager came out and greeted some guest that was out. Overall great place to take your family, friends or even a cute date night.

Came here for breakfast and it was great! The food was super delicious and the service was really welcoming. Only downside was the packed parking lot—it was hard to find a spot. But we’ll definitely be back!
