I highly recommend getting the deviled eggs to start. They were packed with so much flavor, topped with bacon bits and a potato chip in each one. The perfect start to a great meal.
The beef short rib was fantastic. It was fork-tender and flavorful, sitting atop of root vegetable puree. My Dad got the fried chicken sandwich with fries and really enjoyed it.
For dessert we got the hummingbird cake. Thank god we just got a slice for the table to share because it was so big and rich, 3 of us barely finished it.
A special shoutout to our server Mika. She was so friendly and attentive and was always there in case we needed anything. Great service all around! We’ll definitely be back.
We went with a group of four people for dinner on a cold Friday night. We made a reservation but the restaurant was at 50-60% capacity.
We ordered fried chicken, the beef rib, and the lamb. Everything took around 20 minutes to be delivered to our table. I would describe food as comfort food very well executed. The fried chicken was nice, the beef rib was perfect, and the lamb was good too.
For dessert, we ordered the key lime pie, very good!
Service was fast and attentive, what is expected of a place of this kind.
Recommend!
The deviled eggs were the 2nd worst deviled eggs I have ever had. That’s not to say they were horrible by any means, but they were mediocre at best. They didn’t taste fresh, and I thought the presentation was some of the worst I have ever seen, It looked like I ordered deviled eggs from a sports bar at a mall, or from a place like Buffalo Wild Wings. The potato chips and bacon added nothing to the dish and felt like an afterthought. A complete disappointment.
The crab cakes, however, were the complete opposite. One of the best crab cakes I have ever had. I normally don’t take pictures of food after I have cut into it, but I had to show the inside of these cakes! There was hardly any binder, it was all crab, and it was DELICIOUS. Perfectly fried, seasoned, and a complete homerun.
If I had only had the deviled eggs, this would be a 2-star review in my opinion and I would never think about coming back. That being said, the crab cakes really saved my experience and my rating. I would gladly come back for the crab cakes and to try something else.
Note to the restaurant–you marked us as not attending in Open Table–can you correct this?
The courtyard has such a romantic, tucked-away feel, and the entire day flowed so effortlessly. The food was AMAZING – from the flavor to the presentation. If you’re planning a smaller wedding, this is the place. And if you pair it with Christine Janda Design and Events and her design team? Pure magic.
