Was not expecting to have the best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had when I walked in here.
A sports bar atmosphere with deceptively good food. I was happy on multiple fronts with Tanner’s. The chicken and waffles were better than I was expecting. The waffle tasted like funnel cake and the chicken was hand breaded. Garlic aeoli on both, with bacon and tots. At least try it once.
The price was very reasonable as well. I was expecting more and was very happy with my bill.
I will happily come back to try the full menu.

No complaints middle of the road food. The burger I got with egg was really good. The service was lackluster she kept going over to the corner on the top part of the restaurant and talking to the other employees but we just kept waiting and that sucked. She was nice but we waited several times when we shouldn’t have been waiting as long as we had. I remember going to the one downtown.

I’m not from around here. So I asked the waiter what he thought would be a good Burger. And he told me the KC BBQ It was so delicious. I never had to ask for a drink. The server was on top ofdidn’t really have to ask for anything. Everything was great for me great experience will come back well recommend

Tanners is my go to stop when staying by KU medical. Super great appetizers, large selection of local beers. Wait staff is super friendly and fast with orders and drinks. If you come on a Friday, be patient, it can get real busy.

Had lunch here. Blue cheese burger was really good. Others lunches including salads looked really good too. Good servings, good service (could have visited our table a little more frequently) and good atmosphere. Will comeback and do recommend.

I have frequented Tanners on many occasions, specifically with my friends as we celebrated small wins during the course of our undergrad degree at KU Med. This is exactly the reason we felt it would be the best place to celebrate our mini 5 year reunion. Gather everyone again for old times sake at the place we all knew well. We knew that we would have a rather large gathering and not wanting to “hope” to find adequate seating, my friend coordinated with the manager Tina for us to reserve a private section. After some back and forth about whether we would be ordering platters which we all decided was not what we wanted, we were told that we could not individually order food when we arrived. We all decided it was fine… we were really there for the drinks and catching up. We all chipped in to pay the deposit to reserve the area. To our surprise when we arrived for the event the area that was reserved had a different gathering occurring. We were so confused. When asked to speak with Tina, she was not available. Instead the woman in charge and our waitress had to bear the brunt of our disappointment. We were polite, though annoyed, but thankfully the manager that night and our waitress took it all with grace. They comped us our first drinks and even through in some free apps. Unfortunately Tina, “forgot” to put our reservation in the calendar. She surely didn’t forget to take our deposite or berate us about not ordering platters. In the end we had a good time and the drinks were perfect but Tina is another story.

Ordered the turkey melt with fries. Tasted really good 8 out of 10. It was really basic no garnish other then cheese and turkey. The fries breaded fries which i personally enjoy 7 out of 10 they didnt sit to heavy.
Also ordered the chicken and waffles the chicken tasted really good and the bacon was nice. But the waffles were nasty, i had asked for syrup on the side but the syrup was was doused into the waffle also the waffled tasted like grease and was not appealing overall a 5 out of 10. Made me throw up.
Overall 7 out of 10.
The customer service was spot on with only 1 server taking care of everyone.

So after visiting our best friend at the ku med center we stopped at tanners. The atmosphere is full on sports bar and large and open. Of course hubby and make a beeline to the bar. Both of us ordered a beer which arrived in a frosty glass and quickly (we were parched!). The menu has lots of options (see photo). I’m in the mood for a burger and of course, I’m going to try the onion rings! Hubby has the potato skins. Our bartender and server, Natalia, is attentive without hovering and friendly. Her timing is spot on. Our food arrives piping hot (that’s must for me). My burger is cooked medium rare-perfect! The onion rings are not as crispy as freestates but definitely worth it. The burger is so tender it’s literally falling apart. The bun is a kaiser like roll and very soft, like fresh baked. If you want extras (cheese, mushroom, etc) it’ll cost you. I like bare burgers and this one delivered. Very moist and delicious. Hubby’s potato skins were just the right amount of ingredients. The potato itself was perfectly bakes-not mushy and not chewy. Green onions, sour cream, cheese and bacon were all in sync with one another. I actually snagged a bite (or 20) and may have swayed back and forth in ecstacy. Really really good. The bathroom was SPOTLESS and the stalls have full size doors that completely enclose the stall! ❤️This place is 1 hour away but we both agreed it’s worth the drive, especially if Natalia is working and the chef is the same! Outstanding!

The chicken nachos had no flavor. The chicken tasted boiled with seasoning. Chips were stale. Nice place to hang and get drink but I wouldn’t eat here
