I wouldn’t get their ramen – gave it 2 chances but nah. Won’t even call them ramen. Rice dishes are average.
Wouldn’t be my go to Japanese restaurant. The other option is cheaper, feels fresher, and better portion + taste.
First, in person, I had a large sushi combo. It was excellent. Only complaint was the sushi rice had too much mirin/rice vinegar/whatever they use to add sweetness and the sushi wouldn’t hold form to pick up or dip fish side first into the soy. Service was great.
Second, since it was so good, I ordered it via Uber Eats. I got a small sushi set and Unagi (with utensils). No utensils came. The unagi was tough and fishy. The sushi was mostly again excellent, this time not overly saturated, except one of the white fish pieces seemed foul. Overall still a good restaurant.
My wife ordered the seafood bento box with a Seven Up Zero, but was served Sprite Zero instead. The salmon portion in the bento was very small and underwhelming. I ordered the beef curry, which was supposed to include miso soup and a choice of one side from the last page of the menu. I wasn’t asked to choose and was instead given gyoza, which turned out to be very oily.
Unfortunately, the food overall lacked good flavour and didn’t feel particularly well prepared. To make matters worse, there were no paper towels available in the toilet, which added to the negative impression.
Overall, between the comfort issues, service problems, and mediocre food, the experience did not meet expectations.
Résumé (FR): Expérience décevante avec un service maladroit, un confort limité et une cuisine sans saveur.
