We went on a Sunday. Maybe it was an off day I don’t know. But the food was not good. The service was great! He was very nice, attentive and knowledgeable. The bar beverage was good as well it just needed more ice cause who wants hot liquor? But that’s a matter of preference. We ordered the wings and egg rolls to start they were ok. To wait that long and the chicken to come out a little cold and the wings were very small for the price point. But I guess size is a matter of preference. They were flavorful so no complaints. My son ordered the a breakfast plate that came with waffles but the waffle machine was down so they offered a corn muffin for half a waffle … But the breakfast is $20 interesting because you have several dishes on the menu that comes with a waffle you should just not offer it especially if you want me to pay $20 for breakfast. Mind you it was two pieces of bacon two unseasoned eggs unseasoned potatoes and a corn muffin. I ordered the seafood and grits the grits were watery not savory just more of a breakfast style grits It didn’t have any flavor nor sauce on a dish like seafood and grits. My mom ordered the stuffed trout which the server told us would be 20 minutes in the oven a thin stuff trout would be 20 minutes It came out overcooked and dry the dish came with crab rice it had no vegetables not even spinach nothing in the rice just seafood and rice no sauce just dry. I was extremely disappointed in the food! For this to be advertise the way that it is I had high hopes and I was let down. But again maybe I went on an off day. Now I do not like to down any business! I am a business owner I’m just giving my experience. The establishment is beautiful. The people that work there are beautiful! I’m sure the management works very hard. Would I go back no but I encourage everyone to visit this establishment because they bring something different to that community!!!

This restaurant is everything! We sat outside on a December afternoon and it was a beautiful. Lydia’s customer service was stellar. She was attentive and kind! The food was amazing. I had fried green tomatoes, and Slammin Salmon! Everything was seasoned well and the presentation was beautiful! Thank you!

Awesome experience. Our waiter, Greg, was superb. The food was impeccable and the vibe was upbeat and fun. Everything we had was delicious. The fried corn and the banana pudding cheesecake are a must!!!

I saw the reviews and was excited…. sadly I believe they are paying for reviews… we sat ourselves and it was almost 30 minutes before we were acknowledged. There was 1 waitress and 1 manager…. We sat down at 12:00 and the 3 of us got our food at 1:21. I got my food before she brought me water. The salmon balls were under cooked… so soft they fell apart as touched , the chicken wings were crispy but pink inside. The eggs were runny….. the Gullah rolls were ok. The “fush and grits”…. We left if on the table. There was no apology or anything. $141.00 bill for three of us and neither of us enjoyed the food or service. DONT RECOMMEND

First time being here and I can say I’m very satisfied. The atmosphere here is really nice and relaxing. They have an excellent food and cocktail menu. Service provided by Ridge was superb. Highly recommend the the eggrolls and Royal Flush cocktail. Needless to say I’ll be back.

We truly wanted this visit to Virgil’s to be a great experience, especially after seeing so many positive reviews. Unfortunately, the service fell far short of what it could and should have been.

When we arrived, the staff were gathered together chitchatting, not working. There was only one person tending the bar, one patron at the bar and a party of four and a party of two sitting at nearby tables. We stood patiently at the door waiting to be acknowledged, but eventually had to ask for assistance just to be seated despite there being another 3-4 additional staff in the dining area plus a Greeter.

We initially chose to sit outside to enjoy the weather, even after the waitress warned us about flies. The flies weren’t the issue, though the lack of service was. After 15 minutes of sitting with no greeting, no drink order, and no acknowledgment, we decided to go back inside. Ironically, the moment we sat at the bar, everything suddenly started moving: drink orders taken, entrées ordered, and service finally began.

What made the experience even more disappointing was the constant chitchat and gossip among the staff. These were not work-related conversations – they were personal, loud, and nonstop. We repeatedly overheard “I know that’s right” and “girl bye,” along with plenty of non-professional commentary. With 4-5 staff members on the clock, attentiveness should not have been an issue, yet it clearly was.

At one point, we had to ask if our food was ready. The young lady said she would check, only to immediately return with our plates – making it obvious that the food had been sitting, waiting. We also had to repeatedly ask for refills and eventually request the bill because no one was paying attention to us.

Now, onto the positive: The food itself was absolutely excellent. The fried chicken, greens, and mac and cheese were all delicious and some of the best we’ve had.

Because of that, I might return but only for takeout. The dine-in experience felt less like a restaurant and more like sitting in the audience of a live “Jerry Springer” episode. Until the service and professionalism match the quality of the food, dining in just isn’t something we can do again.

First time going here on 9/26 @approxiametly 8:20pm . I walked in and it was a few empty tables. I stood there by myself for at leaset 10mins before i was acknowledged by either waitresses which was two. It was a white male and a black female. The black man at the bar even noticed them kept walking by so he asked how can i help you. Even the manager was sitting down on his laptap which i assumed was the manager heavy set guy with glasses . I do not think he saw me but he should keep aware of his surroundings since he was by the door at the bar in his laptop. Eventually after the young lady walked back out the door and passed me again she came in and asked me then have i been helped after dude at bar henced that I haven’t as if she did not see me the first time. Anywho food was good but could have been better. It was the macaroni and cheese which was dry as if it had been sitting all day or was premade day before or hell maybe they just make it like that but it’s definitely not my cup of tea , i love my mac creamy and cheesy but it was ok. The chicken was good and fresh, the sweet potatoes was good and collard greens were even better. I will give them another try but i would like better service and better macaroni cheese. Also waitress told me that they do not accept cash card only. Kinda caught me off guard because i do not see that anywhere on there website. I made sure i took a pic of my reciept with my tip included to keep just in case someone tries to still my card number and tip themselves.

This was excellent!! ! I drove three hours from SC to come due to seeing on a food show City Eats Atlanta on Wednesday. I WILL be back. Drew, the Asst GM, was very nice and helpful in making our decisions on what to eat. His recommendations, we tried and all were very delicious.

As stated before, the food was excellent. I gave 4 stars just because I am a cater and the macaroni noodles were overcooked. I acknowledged to Drew and he handled it immediately. Accepts customer feedback and went immediately to correct the situation. But that will not stop me from returning again which will be real soon and with some more friends to try.

So if you want great food, service, nice very intimate place. This is the place. I will be back soon so see you later.

Baby, listen!!!! Virgil’s Gullah Kitchen & Bar in Conyers did not miss a beat! I stopped in for my Aftuh Church Plate, and let me tell you, that food tasted like a Sunday hug from Grandma herself. The corn muffins were sweet, soft, and buttery just how they’re supposed to be. And those deviled eggs? Whew, perfection. The atmosphere had that good Southern energy, laughter, good music, and plates that make you close your eyes after the first bite. Everything was seasoned with love, not just salt! I’ll definitely be back for another round.
