I recently dined at Sahara Restaurant and it was one of the best Mediterranean dining experiences I’ve had in the area. The food is full of rich flavours. The breads are perfectly baked and paired with their dips. The highlight was the strong and aromatic Turkish coffee. Welcoming ambience and great service. Highly recommended for high-quality Mediterranean cuisine.

I never knew this place existed as a (broke college) student, despite the central location and bright lights.
Husband says this was his go-to spot to take first dates when he wanted to impress (although he never took me and ours was at Destination Dogs lol), and for good reason too. The indoor decor is spacious and beautiful, the staff is very friendly, and the food is ethnically unique and delicious.
Been here twice on weeknights with friends, never had to wait for a table but both times it was quite popular (and there’s never space in their dedicated parking lot).
During my last visit, we split a veggie platter (with their warmly baked pita to swoop up every last bit) and their duck special (who knew passionfruit sauce would go so PERFECT with mash potatoes & succulent quack steak??)
And there’s plenty more to try on the menu, with some rotating specials as well. I remember a shrimp entree and some steak kebab from last time also being very flavorful. Definitely make a trip out here if you haven’t already!

What a fantastic lunch we had at Sahara Restaurant today! The moment we stepped in, the warm, authentic ambiance welcomed us — beautiful traditional decor, soft lighting, and that genuine Middle Eastern hospitality that instantly makes you feel at ease during the daytime.
We kicked off with the freshly baked pita (hot and fluffy right from the brick oven — impossible to stop eating!), creamy and smoky baba ghanoush, and delicious stuffed grape leaves that were packed with flavor and clearly made with love.
For our mains, the lamb kebabs and chicken kebabs were absolutely top-class — tender, juicy, perfectly spiced, and grilled to perfection. Portions were generous, and everything tasted incredibly fresh.
The service was friendly, attentive, and spot-on for lunch — quick without feeling rushed. The whole interior feels so authentic, like a little escape to the Mediterranean in the middle of the day.
We’ll definitely be back for more lunches (and bringing friends next time!). If you’re craving real, high-quality Mediterranean food around lunchtime, this place is unbeatable. Highly recommend! ️

A great BYO spot! They didn’t take any reservations so we ended up waiting for a bit! But the food was great, the chipotle hummus was super creamy and spicy! The special chicken platter for 4 people was the perfect sampler! A ton of delicious meats, and many different styles of seasonings! I was particularly impressed with the perfect spices on the chicken Adana! The rice was cooked well and paired nicely with the chicken; and the pita was always hot and fresh! Will definitely be back

I took my husband here for his birthday and it was such an amazing experience! The food was fresh, flavorful, and the portion sizes were perfect. One of the highlights was watching the fresh bread being made right in the stone oven – it tasted incredible. I asked if I could buy some extra bread to take home, and to my surprise, they gave it to me for free as a kind courtesy. That thoughtful gesture really made the evening even more special. The service was warm, the atmosphere was welcoming, and everything about our visit was wonderful. I would definitely go back again and highly recommend Sahara Restaurant to anyone looking for delicious food and great hospitality!

This is one of the best Mediterranean restaurants I’ve ever been to. Their pita is absolutely out of this world—soft, fresh, and delicious right out of the oven. Every dish we tried was spot on and full of flavor. We went on a sunny winter Sunday for lunch, and the bright, cheerful vibe along with the amazing food made it such a memorable experience. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. I absolutely love this spot.

Just picked up order for 6 people. Adana kebabs are half cooked and so are the lamb shish. The place used to be so good but this has to be the worst Turkish food I had in US by far. They should be ashamed of themself for pushing this kind of food to the customers. This is something to report to Middlesex County Health Department for inspection and food quality.

Love! Love! Love this place. Every dish I have tried in past 3 trips here I have loved it all. Unfortunately every time I come with plan to take pics but as soon as food arrives I focus on eating and forget to take pics. It’s in my top 5 places to eat at. I have attended baby shower here, take out for an event and dine in. All were a success. Great customer service with an amazing food.

Everything was perfect. From the food to the service! It was a spontaneous outing, and it was 11 of us. Everything we ordered was very good. We took a vegetarian combo (sampler of most of appetizers), calamari and shepherd salad – it was perfect. From shrimp to lamb chops, to fish- everything was very flavorful and fresh with perfect amount of spices. Baked eggplant was to die for. Plates were empty. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys Mediterranean food.
