I don’t know many restaurants around Monroe with nice clean catfish and shrimp plates
But this is some fine vittles being from south Louisiana with the freshest fish and shrimp around catfish Charlie’s definitely goes above and beyond

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Monroe. There are other catfish houses in the area but this is the one to go to don’t bother going anywhere else. The fish is cooked just right and everything always taste just right. They also offer grilled fish of fried isn’t for you.

I was told I had to try this place since I was new to the area. I had the catfish in which was very good no complaints about the food so that is why I gave a 4 reason I didn’t give a 5 was 3 main reasons. 1) $20.00 for lunch for 1 person is too expensive. 2) Since the prices are high I’m under the assumption that they could reinvest into turning their air conditioning down so you do not sweat while you eat. But the food was great without a doubt. 3) One last thing the asking for a tip. I stood in line ordered my food made my own drink, went and picked up my food from the counter, so what service did I receive that deserved a tip? This puts customers in a uncomfortable situation and in many ways it’s a scam in my opinion. This is a normal thing for so many places I hate to see a good one do it for their own benefit. But again the food was good.

Catfish Charlie’s has always been one of our favorite places to eat here in town. The food is great, the service is good… BUT.. we decided to get the Thanksgiving turkey that they offer each year, to save time. We ordered the Cajun fried turkey. We spent around $80 total, for this turkey. We were pretty disappointed in the size of this bird. It was about the size of the large rotisserie chicken I get at Sam’s for $6. It tasted good tho. That’s the only positive about it. Very expensive for the size. We will continue to love Catfish Charlie’s for the food, but we will not make the mistake of ordering another Thanksgiving turkey.

I was very impressed with the customer service we received from Vicky and Nick concerning this issue. They did everything they could to make it right and was super courteous and helpful in making sure we were happy. We will definitely continue to be faithful customers

First time here, I had the lunch Catfish D’arbonne with grilled catfish. It was delicious, but if I can make it back I’ll get the fish blackened for more intense flavor. Hubby enjoyed his fried catfish immensely. He said it didn’t have some of the issues you typically find with pond raised fish. Highly recommend!

The service was friendly and the food was fast! Our buzzer went off to indicate our food was ready before we even got to the soda fountains to get our drinks. Hot and fresh fried goodies and sides!
My husband and I opted to split a basket and upgraded our fries side to mashed potatoes, then get an extra side and dessert. The fried cornmeal catfish and fried battered shrimp were tasty. Didn’t love the Cajun mashed potatoes (they weren’t spicy despite the cashier’s warning and just tasted overpoweringly like cloves). Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya had good flavor, though it was mostly just rice. And the banana pudding dessert was a delightful treat!
Exterior of the building is fairly nondescript (looks sort of like a dive night club with the blackout windows). Interior of the building is like a retirement home cafeteria with a few accents on the wall to make it feel “bayou themed.” Nothing special, but it felt clean. It was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday at 3pm—all but one or two tables were full! Prices seemed reasonable.

Had a good experience eating here with my family. The food was hot and fresh and it came out quickly. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There’s plenty of seating and the decor is fun to check out. The prices are reasonable and the portions are big.

The food was hot and fresh, but it was very underseaoned for me. I ordered the combo appetizer of cheese sticks and onion rings. The texture was awesome on both, but there was no salt in the breading. The mild taste of the cheese paired with no seasoning made that a dish that I would not order again. The onion rings were slightly better. I’m a person who doesn’t like a lot of salt, but there was none in these dishes. I also ordered the Catfish D’arbonne. The catfish was fried well but underseaoned as well. The crawfish cream sauce was very tasty. There was too much rice for the amount of sauce. The service was excellent. The workers seemed to enjoy working there.

I was a visitor in Louisiana state for the first time. Catfish Charlie’s was recommended to us. The food was excellent. The portions were great for the price. The food was so fresh. We had the catfish and seafood platters. The staff was great. I would go there again if ever I was in Louisiana.
