My sister and I stopped here for lunch. Pretty disappointed overall. My sister got a hamburger which was fine. I elected to get The pulled chicken sandwich. It wasn’t pulled chicken at all! It was more like they stripped the bone off a chicken breast and stuck it on a roll. When we checked our order before we left, we realized they forgot our french fries. One chicken sandwich, One hamburger, Two small orders of fries and two drink drinks ran us $25. Way overpriced for what we got. Will not return.

Love love love the barbecue here. The service was great, and I felt like she went above and beyond—offering me extra hush puppies and dessert. I got a bbq tray with a side of the brisket on special. The tray was great, but the brisket fell a little short. It wasn’t as tender as other brisket I’d had, but it was still flavorful!
This place has been on my list for a while, so I’m glad I made the drive from Charlotte to check it out.

I’ve never really liked this low quality old school joint and I usually like the chicken sandwich as long as you watch for bones but today was particularly bad! First off the bun was hard on top but soggy on the bottom (are they making them and letting them sit?) The sandwich had very little BBQ and slaw. The onion rings looked good but somehow the onions were hard. For 2 tiny sandwiches and inedible onion rings it was $18 ! I was mind blown! A 5 dollar meal from McDonald’s would beat this junk

What’s not to like? Good good food. Nothing fancy– just good. Reasonable prices. Service–great. Seems like one of the few places who haven’t cut corners. Real food that still tastes the way it used to when they became famous for being Hurshey’s.

Tick another one off my NC BBQ bucket list ✅! Hursey’s OG location in Burlington North Carolina. Old school NC whole hog is definitely my jam. Loved everything about this place! Had a BBQ plate with slaw and baked beans and ordered an extra side of Brunswick stew. Highlights: the sauce here is amazing if you like vinegar based…it’s not watery like most of them and had a little kick to it, which I love. Great slaw and hush puppies…pretty much everything was on point here. The Brunswick stew was so good, especially after that disappointment I had the other day. They’ve been doing it since 1949 and I love, love, love the old school vibe here. Super friendly, amazing staff. 4.8 snouts!

After seeing a sign on the highway advertising that it was in the bbq hall of fame, I was expecting a phenomenal meal at a hidden gem. Instead, I got tasteless mystery meat with equally tasteless bbq sauce, greasy undercooked hush puppies, and sloppy coleslaw. I have had better pulled pork in a cafeteria. I have never been inspired to leave a bad review on a website before this terrible experience. Step up your game, hurseys. Think twice before going to hurseys.

We have come here a handful of times and food was good. This time, my wife had ribs they tasted funny left a bad aftertaste and not very warm. And the fries well they where almost cold . Oh yes and the diet mt dew tasted very weird.
