Heard a lot about Wagamama and decided to go here for dinner on a friday. The place was quite empty for peak dinner time. I was very excited about eating here but the service and quality of food was notably bad. Donburi was bland- we ordered a spicy version but while eating it felt as if there was no sauce added. Chicken was chewy and not very good. Salmon teppanyaki was too oily. The only good thing was Korean fired chicken bao.
The service was slow. The staff paid more attention to a couple who sat next to us who were recording and probably influencers. The staff brought out their food very respectfully whereas our food was served by a lady who just slammed plates on our table. It was a horrible experience eating here. Disappointed.

Popped in for dinner on my way drivong through Birmingham, as I’ve previously had Wagamama’s and it’s always been a good standard.
Unfortunately this time the food was fairly bland, and not very hot.
I didn’t have time or the energy to complain, but appreciate they would have likely warmed it up if I did.
The bill for 1 course meal and a soft drink came to £24.90, I have £30 cash and the waitress asked if I needed the change back which I thought was cheeky.

We popped in for spot of lunch to refuel for more shopping. I have never tried this chain before and i was reasonably impressed.
We chose from the set menu which was £12 for a main and a drink, so despite the three stars it was ok.
The food isn’t the best quality and it gets delivered as it is cooked, so if there is a table of more than one, you all get your meals at different times.

A cheap and cheerful lunch and better than a McDonalds.

Our waiter Liam was an absolute superstar — genuinely one of the best servers I’ve ever had. Attentive, friendly, and made us feel like VIPs the entire time.

Service was flawless and the atmosphere was fantastic — great vibe, comfortable, and really enjoyable overall.

Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the experience. The meat was dry and tasted like it had been sitting half-cooked for far too long. We specifically asked for spicy, but what arrived was the complete opposite — bland, almost sweet, and lacking any real flavor.

Amazing service and atmosphere, but the kitchen really needs to step it up.

We had a great experience here. There was plenty of dishes to choose from. The food was delicious and well presented. The ramen was so fresh and full of flavour. Our waiter was very friendly, polite, and helpful. The atmosphere was nice, and the food arrived in a timely fashion. The QR code made it quick and easy to pay, and you can split the bill too. This was a very enjoyable dining experience.

Absolutely lovely restaurant, perfect choice for some quick food but healthier options. Food was a lovely hearty meal but also light and refreshing. Special shout out to Kahrys who made our visit very enjoyable, providing us with reccomendations and helping us sign up to redeem rewards. Will be returning!

Visited the Wagamama in Birmingham and the service was spot on. The only thing I didn’t like was the fried aubergine which was recommended to me by the waiter. In all fairness they offered to take that off the bill

Overall solid as always

I was quite disappointed with my dining experience today. One of the main courses was served significantly earlier than the rest, and the second only arrived after we reminded the staff—by which time my friend had already finished eating. While I really enjoyed the honey firecracker wings, the curries were underwhelming and not to our taste.

Given the pricing, we expected a higher standard, both in terms of food and service. Unfortunately, the customer service fell short. The general manager of the store was really professional and welcoming but our waitress seemed disengaged—she placed the food and change on the table without a word and didn’t check in with us at any point during the meal. There was no sense of warmth or attentiveness, which really affected the overall experience which left a negative impression overall. It’s a shame, as we were looking forward to the meal.

We are great fans of wagamama. The food was of the usual standard and we love it. But the service was slow. Had to get up and get our drinks as they had been poured but we’re just sitting on the serving area even after I had finished my food!! Waitress seemed totally disinterested. Overall, it was poor. Shame.
