12 of us went to this lovely restaurant for our works Christmas do. I must say it is by far the best fillet steak I’ve ever eaten! Cooked to perfection, tender and melted in my mouth like butter. Had the scotch egg for a starter and it was sensationally. Topped off with the brownie which was delicious.
All of the food for the whole party was absolutely amazing. The staff were very attentive, polite and all smiling and friendly.
The restaurant is located by the river, will definitely be returning in the warmer months to take in the beautiful surroundings. Would 100% recommend this place for groups and perfect place for date night.

We found this place on Google Maps and really liked the look of the menu. It was for my wife’s birthday and when I booked online, I requested a romantic table. We were greeted by Amit and Gabby who offered us the upstairs which we had to ourselves. The food was amazing, I had the 10oz Ribeye that was the most tastiest steak I have ever eaten. My wife went for the whole grilled lobster in garlic butter, it melted in your mouth. The service was excellent. Gabby was a great host and we had a good chat afterwards about where to visit in Cambridge. We would definitely like to visit again when we are back in Cambridge. Thank you all for making my wife’s birthday dinner special!

I had eaten at River Bar Steakhouse & Grill before and had loved it, which is why I went back during this visit to Cambridge. The atmosphere and service, as well as the sides (mashed potatoes, French beans) were all fine, just like the previous time. But what let us down this time was the meat.
I ordered the lamb chops, but they turned out to be a tough job, in the literal sense of the word: Because of the many tendons, it was hard work cutting the meat, as well as chewing it, so I wished I had made a different choice. That said, my companion ordered the fillet steak (medium), and while the first half was according to his expectations, towards the end he complained to me that it was more medium-rare, which was not to his liking.
Based on my previous experience and the fact that aside from the meat, everything was satisfactory, I would have liked to give this review a higher rating, but given the importance of the meat as the centre piece of our meal, it wouldn’t really be a true reflection of our experience.

I came here with my partner on Friday night for a birthday celebration, the waitress was wonderful and made our experience very enjoyable.
The food was delicious, we had the grilled halloumi to share which was tasty! For mains we had a ribeye with the bourbon and barbecue sauce which I was a lovely addition and the steak was scrumptious. The salmon dish was also very tasty! The highlight was the birthday cheesecake which was gorgeous!
I would highly recommend this steakhouse/ grill to anyone as we very much enjoyed ourselves, we will definitely be back soon (:

Very nice place. You can dine with a beautiful view of the River Cam. The cocktails are excellent and served quickly. The menu offers a variety of meat and fish dishes. The meat, in particular, is excellent and well-cooked. The desserts are delicious. Great for business lunches or dinners too.

I booked this place for my husband’s birthday. Upon arrival we recieved a warm welcome. The service was excellent through out. The staff member helped me pick my wine, also he helped selecting our dishes. We had garlic butter tiger prawns as starter which was really good. For the mains my husband liked the perfectly cooked steak as he wanted but there were not many choices of sauce. I had roasted cod which was good but the veggies were bit too salted due to the soya sauce. My son chose from kids menu, he liked his chicken dish.
Birthday dessert was vanilla cheesecake, this was superb! Brownie was also good.
The place also offers great canal side view and good ambience inside!

Such a fantastic experience eating here. The food was stunning and my steak was one of the best I’ve had. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was absolutely exceptional. Our waiter Peter was so friendly, welcoming and attentive, along with Gabbi who was doing the front of house stuff. Having great food is one thing, but this super level of service made it one of our best restaurant experiences as a couple. Would highly, highly recommend.
