If you want Salmonella then this is the place for you!! Enjoy This place is an entire bysmal!!! My fried catfish is literally 2 little undercooked raw nuggets, with old refried French fries. Fries were soo gummy!
Last but not least. My crab boil is extremely dry! The sausage is soo strung out looking! Mussels were coated in seaweed pieces. I asked for half lb shrimp, half lb mussels, half crawfish. It definitely was not half lb of anything! If you wanted to get sick and cheated out of your money then this is for you. This is not real crab boil. Long John silvers has better quality than this place. I wish whoever is reading this can see this food in person! I’m really needing my money back! Seriously!!

We had a reservation and were seated within a few minutes after entering. They do have a full bar, seats about 12 people. The menu is quite large. They also have sushi. The restaurant is well lit and the bathrooms are clean. They do have some tv’s. The service was a little slow but we did have a party of 7. We got drinks, appetizers and our meals. The calamari was OK. The lobster ragoon, lobster tots were good. We got a different sushi and they were also good. We got seafood, the Jay’s garlic butter was more water than butter. I think if there was less water the seasoning would be a bit stronger. The Ramen bowl was good. The salmon on the salad was a little dry. The mixed drinks were ok, not the greatest. The servers were very polite.

We got the Crab Tots, Lobster Rangoon, and Crab Cakes as appetizers.
The tots were fine. The sauce that comes with them is like a horseradish yum yum sauce, and it was good. They were fine.
The Rangoon had too much cream cheese. It overpowered any lobster that might be in them. Not worth it to us.
The Crab Cakes had too much herbs in the mixture and it overpowered the crab. Not bad, but not worth $17 for two Cakes. At that price, I want to taste Crab.
We also ordered Oysters on the half shell, and they were fresh and good.
The boil bags were boil bags. Nothing over the top, but also not underwhelming. You get exactly what is expected with the boils. The only caveat is that the sausage is cut into thin strips rather than the links that we were expecting.

Overall, it wasn’t worth the 1.5hr drive for us, but if I was in the area, and wanted a boil bag, I’d probably eat here again.

The reason I gave atmosphere a 3 was because the decor is about as lackluster as can be. Long John Silvers has a better decor than this establishment. It’s a good thing we didn’t go there for the ambiance.

Our server was fast with refills, and the cooking was fast. It was also slow at 430p when we ate.

Today I had a crazy craving for seafood with my wife. I decided to try a new place because I wanted to experience new flavors, and I ended up at a terrible restaurant called Jay’s Crab Boil & Oyster Bar.

First of all, I arrived at 9:05 PM and wanted to dine in. They told me the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes, at 9:20 PM, even though the restaurant closes at 10:00 PM. They offered takeout, which I normally would never accept. That’s when the disappointment started.

The food was terrible, and on top of that, it was very expensive. Where I usually eat, you can get a good $30 meal and be satisfied. At this restaurant, they charged me $41.25 for absolute garbage.

I wanted to return the food, but they had already closed.

I strongly recommend going somewhere else. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. -10,000,000,000

Place was pretty chill with low playing music in the background… I had a pretty good server (TJ) a pretty down to earth guy… Only 4 starts on the food because it wasn’t enough and steak was cooked good and juicy, but it wasn’t as flavorful as I imagined…

We love seafood boils. We usually go to similar competitors around town but stopped in to try this location for the first time. We liked the quality of the seafood here, our server was nice and had good customer service, and the atmosphere was relaxing.

With that being said, market price of $28.95 per 6oz lobster tail is brutal. We’d come back. But we’ll probably steer away from those items without clarification next time.

My lobster roll was cold, was supposed to be hot and was definitely over priced. I chose the sweet potato fries, and they were soggy and cold. My food didn’t sit long, because I was in the parking lot when i received the text it was ready. I paid extra in order to have all lobster, and my bun was very scarce. My sushi was delicious, but when I requested extra ginger, it was not provided. Very disappointed for the price!

The boil wasn’t bad. I had crawfish and shrimp. The shrimp was way over cooked making them very tough. My son had snow crab legs which he said was really good. The waitress was super nice, they weren’t busy at all when we were there. It was around 2p. I’d maybe go back one more time to try again but I’ve certainly had better boils and worse.

Try the crab tater tots and the seafood chowder. They use Big. Whole. Clams. It’s thinner than Old Bag of Nails’ clam chowder, but you won’t be disappointed. Be warned, the tater tot’s dipping sauce is a little kicky.
But seeing it on their website is literally what dragged me thru east side traffic in the middle of rush hour to get there in the first place. We sat at the bar while we waited for our food, and the bartender was sociable and friendly. Great experience. We’ll be back soon.

Worst server ever. Didn’t deliver drinks until I asked. Ordered lobster bisque and as she brought our meal she said they were out. Worst filet ever., No flavor. Asparagus bland. Scallops not done. Brought sides after I finished WTH. I will never ever be back.
