Social Profile:

The Atrisco Cafe & Bar is a third generation family restaurant with its roots at the corner of Atrisco Boulevard and Central Avenue in Albuquerque. It was here from the 1940s to the 1970s that my grandmother, Sophia, operated the Central Cafe. My mother, Georgia, and her siblings grew up working at the Central Cafe in the Atrisco barrio. There they developed a love of chile while learning how to run a great restaurant. The Atrisco Cafe & Bar benefits from the wisdom of my mother, my father, Richard, and my aunts and uncles, as they owned and operated the Mayflower Cafe, Tomasita’s, Tia Sophia’s, and Diego’s. For over 50 years, our family has relied on simple recipes, quality ingredients, and friendly service.

Colorful family-run cafe & bar serving seasonal New Mexican specialties, plus burgers & breakfast.

Absolutely loved this place! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable the entire time.
The food was outstanding — everything came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. You can really tell they care about quality and presentation. Every bite was delicious, and the portions were generous.

I was not acknowledged , I walked in and was ignored by the host. Another couple walked in and they were seated before me. I will go to Tomasitas.

Same day update- Manuel a very awesome guy/the Management at Tomasitas let me know Atriscos is the sister restaurant. He said he would speak to the managers over there. I will lighten my tone with Atriscos for now. I feel like Tomasitas treats me like family and I will have to go back and experience Atriscos. Thank you ☺️

Every time my husband and I go to Atrisco we leave happy. We go about 3-4 times a month. We do have our favorites off the menu-the lighter plate, (w great posole), an added taco, the Atrisco combo, occasionally the Tortilla burger when I’m super hungry. Lately we’ve added queso with our salsa and chips, and the wedge salad, which is always so cold and fresh with great dressing. Of course we have our special requests, ( no onions, no sour cream, green chile only, no red). Our food always arrives temperature hot , just the way we ordered it. Our servers, usually Lorena & Marcos, are friendly and so accommodating. Miguel and Alexa, the Managers, are so welcoming, smiling and happy. Honestly , the whole staff is efficient, (skilled at layering customer plates up their arms), and quick to respond to whatever we need-usually extra napkins , more chips or another Frog cocktail. A frozen margarita! My favorite drink. The only things I’d change would be to lower the lighting in the evening hours, and bring honey butter w the sopapillas. Just know you’ll leave happy too, having had a satisfying meal that didn’t break the bank.

Stopped in for lunch and I was very pleasantly surprised. I had the green chili beef stew. Delicious! Chips and salsa were quite good as well. Chips were hardy and made right there. My stew came with a big soft sopapilla. Oh, almost forgot about the margarita. Excellent!

The food is very good. You get quality organic pasture raised lamb and beef. The food is very good. When they are busy, the wait for a table is upwards of 40 minutes, but fortunately theyare within the DeVargas Mall, so plenty of space to walk and window shop.

This is one of our favorite New Mexican restaurants of all time! The food is excellent and they make great efforts to source much of their ingredients locally. The service has always been above average.

The space is a little tight but it’s a very home type of feel! The wait was a little long but it was understandable why so many people wanted to eat here at the same time as we were here the food was amazing!!! I had the green chile stew, it was delicious and came with a tortilla my family all got stuffed sopapillas one red and one green (pictured below) but everything was great. Our waiter was super polite and helpful I wish I remembered his name.

Location Is In DeVargas Mall In Santa Fe New Mexico, We Have Never Been So We Wanted To Check It Out. Food Was Average Because I’m Extremely Picky About My CHILE! But It Was Okay I Thought The Portions Was Small With A Big Price But What Do You Expect In Santa Fe Right? I Think There Is ALOT Better Options To Eat At In Santa Fe. I Would Say But That’s Not Fair To This Establishment Sorry. Average Is 20 Dollars Per Plate. We Probably won’t Be Back.
