Reviews
The space is roomy with lots of seating options: booths, tables and cozy booths. It’s spotless inside, and the clean, bright look matches the excellent service. The only drawback is parking—if you’re handicapped, the walk from the lot to the entrance could be an issue.
We both ordered the catfish, choosing different sides. Dinners come with cornbread and fries.
• Fried green tomatoes (appetizer): crisp, golden, perfect.
• Catfish: simply outstanding. The cornmeal crust was light, crispy, and let the fish shine.
• Sides:
• Candied yams—balanced sweetness.
• Collard greens—seasoned beautifully, cooked to the right tenderness.
• Cornbread—moist, flavorful.
• Fries—crisp and snappy.
• Mac & cheese—rich, creamy, indulgent.
The price felt a bit steep, but the quality made it worth it. Other than that, no complaints. Great food, spotless dining room, and attentive service. This place is absolutely worth a visit.
Cabbage- tasted like nothing
Green beans- not a drop of flavor taste straight out of a can
Cornbread- dry
Mac & Cheese- interesting almost as if it was packaged but doctored up
Rib tips- no rib or smoke flavor, all bbq sauce
Yams- flavorless with a HINT of something sweet in it
Collard greens- perfectly cooked and tender
Hot honey chicken wings- not hot extremely sweet but the breading was good and chicken was moist.
Peach cobbler- decent
We spent $100 & understand that pricing is adjusted to the needs of the economy. But if you’re going to charge that much, yall gonna have to do a little bit better with the taste of yalls food. This was our first time. We try out a new spot every time we come to Indy and today this was the pick. Unfortunately, I left disappointed. Cute place. Atmosphere was okay our neighbors were screaming and nobody asked him to bring it down so it was a bit much.
