Social Profile:

Tonto Bar & Grill is built on a strong foundation that transcends most restaurants’ missions. Not only do we take great pride in our food, drinks and service – all of which are consistently outstanding – we also aim to preserve Arizona’s heritage through our cuisine and by sharing the stories of our property’s past. We fuse Southwestern and Native American ingredients and present them in a warm, welcoming atmosphere rich in Arizona lore. We offer several different dining areas including 3 patios with awe-inspiring views of the southern rim of the Tonto National Forest. Two inside dinning rooms and a cozy bar complete this historical resort restaurant.

Restaurant & bar serving Southwestern-focused cuisine in a rustic space with a Native American vibe.

Homey feel inside and a nice outdoors seating in back. Food is good with their own take of upscale tastes of a western flare. Sometime too much spice. I had scallops that were served with a sweet potato mash with a Chipotle drizzle. Brussel Sprouts and fingerling potatoes all in the spicy potatoes mash. Too much heat.

The food was great, and the view was incredible! The service wasn’t amazing at first but after a few tables cleared the waitress became much friendlier! Overall a great night!

We stopped in for lunch and to waste some time before we had to be at our next place and Tontos did not disappoint. The food was amazing! We sat out on the patio and loved how cute the place was and the beautiful golf course views. Phill was our waiter and he was very knowledgeable of the menu and drinks, along with very attentive to us. He never made us feel rushed when we mentioned we needed to kill some time and continued to wait on us graciously. He was a great host!! Definitely recommend stoping in at Tontos!
Husband had the Reuben, which was amazing! I had the pozole and harvest salad which was the perfect lunch. Everything tasted great!

Would like to see a few more taps including some darker beers. Johnny, our barkeep, was excellent and interesting. We ate and drank in the bar so no info on the restaurant.

Great food options and vegan / vegetarian options as well. The only complaint is they have a 4% fee added to cover taxes and employee salaries. This is just stupid. Just raise your prices to justify operating costs.

I really enjoy the outdoor patio and the view of the golf course. The food and service are excellent…and the gluten-free crab cakes are my favorite! They’ll accommodate your food allergies. The local roadrunner came by looking for crumbs (see pics)!

It was clear that this is a much-loved place and had we stayed at the side patio just outside the bar, we may well have joined the league of people who had a great experience, but alas, our move through and out to the larger patio was met with terse, unwelcoming and distracted staff at every turn. The hostess was agitated that we were EARLY for our reservation “you’ll have to wait until 7” was her warning when I checked in at 6:30 (not a problem), our server Brooke was proficient, but not interested in answering questions “it’s all good, it just depends on what food you like to eat” yes, well, I have been to restaurants before and I get the general premise that I should order something that I would expect to like. She was also absent for the majority of our meal and although busy, the restaurant was far from slammed with patrons. We might have had another glass of wine…We might all have ordered dessert. We were denied a table on the lower patio, “No, I can’t do that” but the table was never filled. Maybe three women dining together do not rate a “better” vista. The place has charm and a following, but could work on making people feel welcome and a priority.

A group of four of us really enjoyed our evening out at Tonto Bar & Grill. The Three Sisters Salsa & Guac was a hit with us and seemed to be on many tables around us. We all enjoyed fish for our main entrees. The Sanddabs was my choice and I sautéd fillets were nicely seasoned and cooked. Sides of snap peas, roasted carrots and mashed potatoes made the plate very satisfying. Others enjoyed the Walleye, Salmon and the special, Sea Bass. Cocktails were very good. The service was friendly and helpful.

Excellent food. We recommend: pork schnitzel, maple bourbon short ribs, san dabs and soft tacos. We also enjoyed bar drinks and guac with chips and salsa as an appetizer. Our servers were pleasant, good rumored and very attentive to our party of 7.
