I go here often with my friends after work. It’s very clean and the wait staff is friendly. The food is also good. I almost always go there late at night, so I’m not sure what is like when it’s busy, but in my visits the service is very fast. I like their dessert a lot!

Walked in and sat down. Heard two of the wait staff discussing who gets what table. One lady came to the table and made sure we knew she wasn’t waiting on us just bringing our drinks – 2 waters. She brought a coffee and a water. Left and returned with our second water and reconfirmed she wasn’t waiting on us and left the table. No one came over to our table after that and 7 minutes later we walked out. Worst experience ever at a Jims in the 27 years I’ve lived in San Antonio.

This location was BAD! we have eaten at other locations with good results, but for our family of 5 they couldn’t even get one complete meal out without something being wrong. From burnt pancakes to missing items and cold food, we ended up just paying for drinks and left. 100% of the issue seemed to be the kitchen as our waiter was courteous, quick, and a pleasure to interact with. The manager was understanding of our concerns and complaints and did not hesitate when I said I would only pay for the drinks.

Great friendly service! My order of Chicken Fried Steak was served just the way I asked for it. Brown gravy and all. For a busy lunch hour it took less than 10 minutes to get our meal. The table was clean and all the condiments made available. No problem finding a place to park. We’ll be coming back for sure!

I go to Jim’s because I love their breakfast. This location is absolutely horrible though. Been there a couple of times and service is always bad! We got seated, waited a while, finally saw the waitress came and rudely asked for our drink order. She came back a while later to get our food order. Food took at least 30 minutes to come. She brought out part of our order and brought the rest at her own pace. We never saw her again once our food came out. After waiting at least 15 min for a refill and our ticket, we finally got up and paid up front. The whole time we felt as if we were a hassle to the waitress. We will not be returning to this location.

We waited 45 minutes before the waitress even came to get our drink order. 3 of the 10 drinks were wrong and the 3 cups of coffee were not drinkable because they were so old and burnt. No silverware at the table. Took 50 minutes for our order, 2 burgers, 3 salads, pancakes and an omelet. The food was sitting in the window for 12 minutes before the waitress came to get it. She delivered 4 meals, and literally went on break.
All of this was easily overlooked. But the long black hair that was in my salad was unforgettable.
The assistant manager said it was too bad about the service, but they were busy. That was a lie. There were 7 other tables, all 3 and 4 tops. We were our waitresses only table.
No drink refills
It took 23 minutes before I got silverware after my food arrived.
And we were over charged.
The assistant manager was terrible. So no shock that those who worked for him were horrible.

You get two stars because the food was good. There wasn’t a single friendly person in that whole place. The waitress was talking to another table about kicking her infant out of bed on accident and how hilarious it was. Like what are you doing? You’re at work. Literally from the time I walked in to the time I left not a single person was friendly. My waitress didn’t say hi. The lady that did my checkout didn’t ask how my experience was or say goodbye or tell me to have a good day or anything. What kind of diner is this? They should all be fired. For real. The most morose staff I’ve ever seen. I legit never write reviews, but being in the service industry myself; that whole experience was unacceptable.
