Tessaro’s is the definition of a quintessential Pittsburgh tavern—warm, unfussy, and absolutely excellent. The menu may be small, but every item is spot-on. We had the Gourmet Steak Sandwich with slaw and the Bacon & Blue Burger with home fries, and both were fantastic—big flavor, great portions, and cooked perfectly. We sat at the bar, where the bartender was friendly, attentive, and super cool, adding to the whole vibe. We’ll definitely be back.

What a great place! Walked down from the hospital and wanted a burger cause someone recommended it(got the gourmetkelly burger). And what a great burger! The staff is the best! I came in to take it to-go and celibrbrate a little i just had my first child after trying 11 yrs and they took real good care of me. And they were the best! Would definitely come back and get more food, what a great little place! If your thinking about trying it, don’t think just do it you’ll thanks me later!

Busy place and for good reason! Hands-down the best burger I have had all year! Parking is difficult to find but I’d walk a ways knowing the joy set before my taste buds. There is a bar and they serve food at it too.

I took friends there for a birthday. The ribs, both pork and beef were so tough. They had to be pride off the bone. One person ordered the breakfast burger medium well and it was raw inside then when they took it back to re-cook it the top and bottom was burnt. I had ordered the burger on the rye bread and had ordered it with American cheese and coleslaw on the side what I got was a burger with Swiss cheese on a bun. I could see if it was busy but the restaurant had just opened within 15 minutes of us getting there so to be that was unacceptable. Of course they apologized or I should say the waitress apologized. We will never go back. We are extremely Disappointed. I don’t mind paying for good food but for two drinks two burgers and ribs was $96. That’s a lot to pay for bad food and the lack of attention to detail what a shame I had high hopes for this place.

Just left there maybe 20 minutes ago I’m not sure what was worse the service or the food? I ordered a burger well done, when it showed up I fit into it. It was so raw in the middle, that the bun was soaking wet from the blood. I waited 15 minutes, my server still never showed up so I had to go grab somebody else’s server to show them my food because everybody else I was with was already 15 minutes into eating. Finally my server comes out, 20 mins later, she said she’s sorry. That they will remake my food. I told them not to worry about it because now it’s been 25 minutes at this point and everyone’s done eating. I tell her to take my food off my bill and to bring me my bill. You would think that when you mess up someone’s food that you might put a little effort into trying to make the customer feel like they want to come back. Especially messing up something as simple as a cheeseburger. But I guess they didn’t not need my money.

Excellent service. The bacon cheeseburger is fair, but rather boring. I was told the special honey sriracha was not at all spicy. Hardcore burghers may enjoy Deli Burger. They do not have a deep fryer; no fries 🙁

We were highly recommended to this restaurant and really enjoyed it. The bbq chicken was tender and really good. The home fries were very delicious. The roast beef cheese steak was excellent. Our only complaint was the red potatoes were very bland and lacked any kind of flavor. The atmosphere was very neat and we especially liked the table clothes that were made out of jeans. We highly recommend this restaurant.
