The Wild Olive – Food Menu
Reviews
We were seated right away and greeted by our waitress, who was friendly and attentive. The menu was small, but that’s not a bad thing — it seems to rotate daily with new specials, which keeps things interesting.
I ordered the homemade smash burger with a side of mac and cheese, while my wife got the daily special — a chicken tender melt with sweet potato fries.
The burger itself had one patty that was a bit on the burnt side, making it tough to eat at first. Once I removed the overcooked parts, though, it was flavorful and had a great homemade taste. The mac and cheese, however, wasn’t my favorite — it reminded me a lot of Velveeta-style mac with some bacon bits thrown in. Not bad, just not what I was expecting.
My wife’s chicken tender melt was easily the winner of the meal — perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and paired with crispy sweet potato fries that were delicious. We both agreed I picked the wrong dish!
Overall, the experience was cozy and satisfying. Despite a few small misses, the food had a fresh, homemade feel, and I’d definitely return to try something new off their rotating menu.
9/10 — Would recommend and revisit.
Food is great, well prepared and the slight menu changes with fresh meals is a nice touch. The wait time is about what you’d expect from a restaurant like this. But servers are great, bread and oil is a nice appetizer and the restaurant is always clean and friendly!
*** NOTE: I believe the menu changes daily so it may be completely different options if you decide to visit. ***
Had heard amazing things about this place so we gave it a shot. Food was tasty but I think I was expected to be wowed (this may have just been my mistake) and I thought food was just average? The Pasta Roxanne was very creamy but didn’t have a lot of flavor; I couldn’t even taste the garlic and it didn’t have a lot of bacon so it was a little disappointing. I added shrimp and they were cooked perfectly, there were four to six shrimp, I think? The soup was excellent, thick and rich and perfect to take the edge off of a cold evening in Florida. BF had the Spaghetti Marinara and I think he added Chicken Parm; it looked good but I didn’t try his dish at all.
My husband had the smoked brisket sandwich with fries lunch special and I had the smoked ribeye sandwich with sweet potato fries a cup of broccoli soup. Everything was delicious, both of the sandwiches had a subtle smoke flavor, not overpowering….but those sweet potato fries…perfection!! Just straight up sweet potato fries, crispy and no sugary additions needed!
They do have delicious dessert options made in house as well as a great dinner menu.
We will definitely be back.
I asked her if she wouldn’t mind saying how long it would be as I didn’t mind the wait.
She asked to hold then asked how many people, which I said two.
Without asking which items I would like she came back on and said they couldn’t accommodate me today. I would’ve liked to have been able to tell her I only wanted a burger and salad, as I’m sure that they probably assumed I wanted steaks.
First time coming here in November 2024 and the food and service was great. I had the filet Mignon with a side of spinach salad and mashed potatoes and salad. The filet was a bit tough. I asked for medium rare and was given over medium. I added the mushrooms on top which was a bit more but so good. Thank you! .
May 31 tried the redfish with three shrimp, rice pilaf. Loves the orzo salad, $4 extra charge, but was good. Also ordered the ribeye with mashed potatoes and came with a soup and also kids meal.
-I tried some of my dad’s fries and they seem to be fresh and cut by hand.
-The server also me a lot of lemonade every time I ran out or got low.
