This is our go to place for all birthdays and celebrations. My girls (kids and wife) are obsessed with the pink rice. We always do hibachi. The chefs are always friendly and bring such an amazing experience. We’ve been coming here for years. The quality of food is great and no one ever goes home hungry in our family.

So, I’ve sat on writing this review for a week, and it’s still bothering me, and I think it’s important to inform others.

I took my 5 year old son and I to Geisha house to celebrate my birthday. I knew on Wednesday kids eat free (shame on me for not reading After 4pm) so I knew I would pay for his meal, no big deal. Food was good, chef was nice…and we tipped him $5 in cash once he left. We continued our meal, asked for the check, and I was SHOCKED to see that there was an 18% auto gratuity. I asked the server when this auto-gratuity started, and he says it’s always there for parties of 6 or more. I told him my party was for only 2 people…one adult and one child. He said collectively the whole table counts as the party size…FYI the other party was of 4 (who happens to be Vietnam Vets and their spouses). You can even see on my receipt they put the guest count as 6…which I feel is wrong.

The hostess intentionally tries to fill the grill table before assigning a chef (which I completely understand), but to charge auto-gratuity for a large party, when you’re combining smaller parties to create that threshold is WRONG!

I’m very disappointed with this discovery. I frequent Geisha House at least every other month, but I don’t know if I can anymore. I did not inform the other party of this finding, but I do know that they tipped the chef $20 ($10 per couple) and I’m unsure how much they tipped on the receipt.

I wonder how many patrons have “doubled or overtipped” unbeknownst to them.

We also had to make a reservation, so the hostess new the headcount, and didn’t inform the table of this policy.

I ordered a spider roll and the NY steak. Steak was huge chunks but very tender, the shrimp was “tired”, and the spider roll well not sure that’s what arrived (see pic). Overall the wait was extremely long over an hour so don’t go hungry. Or go hungry with a snack in your pocket . The staff was good, young but attentive. Very crowded as I went on a Friday night.

This is a reservation only restaurant. So they have hibachi tables. The chairs at those table should be slightly higher. It seem like some of the hibachi tables were different heights. There was 3 people in my party. Someone came and took our drink order but our food order didn’t start until approximately 20 minutes later, because they wanted the hibachi table full. Two additional parties finally came and they started getting everyone’s order. What they didn’t advertise on the menu nor did we see it on the website is that everyone in your party has to order off the hibachi menu to sit at a hibachi table. Two of us did order off that menu but one person wanted sushi. Because she wanted sushi we actually had to move to another table. That information should be posted some where so you know from the start, definitely should be added to the website.

Ok, we finally get to order. We order lunch specials, salmon asparagus salad (10 out of 10, so good!!!!), hibachi shrimp and chicken and it comes with fried rice, a small plain salad, soup (also tasty) and 2 different types of sushi rolls. I remember she ordered spicy but I don’t remember what kind.

We received all of the food within 10 minutes. Our favorite was the salmon asparagus salad, get it, it’s so good! The chicken was a little over cooked. The rice and soup were fine. So while we were eating I think someone checked on us once. We were there approximately 45 minutes. We didn’t know if the bill was supposed to be brought to the table or we pay at the register, because we only got checked on once. So we flagged someone down and finally was able to get the bill. We came in right at the opening time, which was 11:30, so I’m not sure why service was so slow. When we did have an encounter with the employees, they were nice.

I will revisit again, why, you guessed it, the salad, lol. The restaurant is located inside a plaza. I actually had to circle a couple times to find a parking spot. The area is nice. The restaurant was clean. They just need to be much better at providing service.

I have going Geisha House for many years. The sushi is excellent and there always seems to be a special advertised. The best food is the hibachi experience. I have visited other hibachi restaurants and find Geisha House is by far superior. Yes there is the show, the chefs are entertaining. Yet it is the combination of spices used on the food which makes it a step up. Wait staff are courteous and knowledgeable. Worth the visit.

Incredible Happy Hour Menu and times! Very happy with my miso soup and Ultimate Shrimp Roll. It’s so nice to be able to get a high quality meal at such an affordable price.

The staff here is so friendly. My waitress took great care of me, I wish I knew her name but I was in on 7/14/25 around 3ish if that helps.

This restaurant is clean, set up nicely and I plan to do one of the Hibachi dinners one of these days!

This is my new go to spot for sushi!

We got a delivery order of the chicken and fried rice which came with two pot stickers and a little salad. It was the perfect amount of food. As an app, we ordered the creamy shrimp crunch roll (my personal fav) and the North Decatur roll. Highly recommend this restaurant! Dining in is also really fun and makes for either the perfect sushi date night or hibachi.

Our chef, Junior, was incredible. I chose the ribeye hibachi, requesting medium rare. The preparation was spot-on! So. Good. The fried rice could have been cooked a bit more, though. The veggies were delicious. The included soup was yummy, but the included salad was kind of blah. The tempura shrimp appetizer was light, crispy, and tasty. Portion sizes are large. Though a bit spendy, you get your money’s worth. Including picture of the generous amount of leftovers.
