Fantastic Taiwanese food with authentic flavors and generous portions. Everything tasted fresh and perfectly seasoned. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was quick. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot to enjoy a relaxed meal. The mochi ice cream was good and not too sweet. Definitely coming back and highly recommend!

My group of five visited Mu Lan and had a really enjoyable time. It was pretty packed when we got there (always a good sign), but we had a reservation, so seating was smooth. The vibe is warm and lively: great for a casual dinner with friends.

Service: Pretty solid. Staff were friendly, attentive, and didn’t make us wait too long. Everything from getting water refills to taking orders was handled well.

Food & Portions: We ordered five different dishes to share so we could try a lot. Highlights for me:
Popcorn chicken: crispy and flavorful. A crowd-pleaser.
Spicy eggplant: flavorful, nicely textured, and not overwhelmingly spicy. If the menu says spicy, don’t expect fire—more like a pleasant kick.

Everything was generous in portion size, nicely presented, and tasted fresh.

Spice Level: As noted, even “spicy” items are reasonable. If you love spicyv food, you might wish for a bit more heat, but for a broad range of palates this feels well-calibrated.

Overall:
Mu Lan delivers solid Taiwanese food in a friendly, bustling atmosphere. Great for sharing with a group. Would definitely go back.

Family dinner during Labor Day weekend. Place was packed with lots of Asian customers. We ordered from one of the dinner set menus plus a few other dishes. Food was exceptionally authentic and tasty. They reminded me of the typical Taiwanese wedding banquet food. Service was quick and efficient. Ambience was lively, noisy and joyful. My entire family of 11 adults enjoyed the meal very much.

We got pick up so I don’t know if this had anything to do with the food quality. But the lo mien was meh. The pork and leek dumplings tasted off. I ended up throwing them away because I didn’t want my kids to get sick. The general tso chicken was okay. We did not enjoy the beef Mongolian. The fried shrimp was soggy from the grease. The sweet and sour chicken was decent.

For nearly 2.5 years, I lived just two houses away from Mulan. Despite always seeing it bustling with customers, I never got around to trying it—until a friend’s wedding finally gave me the opportunity. I got to sample a wide variety of dishes, and I’m seriously kicking myself for not going sooner.

From tofu to chicken, fish to lobster, dry dishes to rich curries—everything I tried was phenomenal. The flavors were bold, perfectly balanced, and left a lasting impression. The service was just as impressive; despite our large group and a packed restaurant, the staff remained attentive and efficient.

The dishes just kept coming, and I eventually had to admit defeat! While I skipped a few due to their spice levels, the ones I did try completely blew me away (metaphorically speaking). If you haven’t been there yet, don’t make the same mistake I did—go now!

When you walk into Mu Lan it is like you are transported to Taiwan. They have some “Americanized” dishes, however they are known for their authentic dishes. My Chinese friends that also own restaurants told me that Mu Lan is the real deal. I went at lunchtime. Most tables were occupied. I was one of the only non-Asian customers. To me, that’s a sign of a great restaurant. As soon as I sat, they brought me over tea, water with lemon, a ramikin of peanuts and a ramikin of pickled cabbage and carrots. A very pleasant start to the meal. My waiter, an older gentleman with glasses was very friendly and was one of the English speaking employees. Part of their menu is written in Taiwanese. Those items had pictures. You can also easily use your cell and Google translate. I should note the restaurant was extremely clean and had nice Asian decor. They give you chopsticks. There is forks/spoons available if needed. I use chopsticks at home so this wasn’t an issue. I started with a cup of Hot and Sour Soup. It’s a favorite dish of mine and I was curious to see how they did it. Great flavors with the normal fillers like tofu, golden needle, black fungus, egg etc. Had a good amount of heat to clear your nose. My next course was half of the House Duck. Also delicious! Although reading the reviews it sounds like people lean towards the Smoked Duck. I finished with some Cuttlefish Dumplings! These were amazing! I believe the wrapper was black from squid ink. Overall, very happy with the food and the little extras they give you.

When they bring out the bill, they also bring Orange slices!!! Kind of like the pineapple back in the day! They have a large menu with a lot of interesting choices. From a cultural perspective it was really fascinating to watch some of the families eat. Each person would get a bowl of rice. Then the table would get two giant bowls
One looked like a soup. The family members would pick at the big bowls and place items on their rice. After a few bites they would repeat the process.

Definitely worth checking out for great fresh, authentic Taiwanese/Chinese food. Prices were very reasonable! Excited to go back and try something new!

Picture 1. (11) Home style spiced chicken(disgusting). Basically, it’s chicken you left in the fridge overnight. It is tasteless)
Picture 2. (154) eggplant with basil. It’s good probably because it is spicy enough.
Picture 3. (12) Smoked Duck Taiwanese Style. I think this one is good. It had the smoked flavor in the duck.
Picture 4. (67) Mu Lan Fish. It’s good, spicy enough and one of my favorite.
Picture 5. (101) Beef with Pineapple and Bitter Melon. It is good and the beef is tender enough.
Picture 6. Tea. It doesn’t look like tea. It’s just hot water with some brown color in it.

Food is ok but the service is very bad and very slow. When I talked to the waitress about the food in picture 1. She pretended she didn’t hear me and walked away.
Nobody came to my table to refill the tea. I had to bring my tea pot out to look for the tea refill station. Someone told me to leave the tea pot on the table and someone will refill it for me.
The guy with glasses who refilled my tea has a big smile on his face and speaks nicely. But the tea tastes like hot water. He said he will add some tea leaves into it but the tea still looks just like hot water.

I had the BEST lunch at Mu Lan Taiwanese Restaurant today! I ordered the tofu and beef, along with the spicy chicken, and wow, I was blown away! The flavors were spot on—so rich, bold, and absolutely delicious. The tofu was perfectly tender and soaked up all that savory goodness, while the beef was super juicy and flavorful. And don’t even get me started on the spicy chicken—it had just the right amount of heat, giving it an exciting kick without being too much.

Plus, the portions were HUGE! Seriously, I was so full and satisfied, but still couldn’t resist wanting more because everything tasted so good. Definitely recommend this place if you’re craving a hearty and flavorful meal. I’ll be back for sure! Check out the photos I’m attaching—these dishes looked as good as they tasted!

I had such a wonderful meal at Mulan Restaurant. This time, I had the Stir-Fried Rice Noodles, Stir-Fried Rice Cake, and Sautéed Fish Fillet. Every dish was delicious and brought me so much joy.

The Stir-Fried Rice Noodles were especially memorable—they were so good that I felt inspired to try making my own version at home. It was a fun way to carry the experience with me.

Thank you, Mulan Restaurant, for creating food that feels so warm and comforting.

I recently got takeout from Mu Lan and couldn’t be happier with the meal! I ordered the stir-fried rice noodles and sautéed fish fillet, and both dishes were absolutely amazing.

I’ve tried making stir-fried rice noodles at home many times, but Mu Lan’s version has that special touch I just can’t replicate—it’s so flavorful and perfectly done. And the sautéed fish fillet? I don’t think I’ll ever come close to matching that incredible taste in my own kitchen!

Thank you, Mu Lan, for bringing such joy and flavor to the table. It’s always a treat to enjoy your food! Can’t wait for my next visit!
