I’ve enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and the food! Kala, you’re an amazing waitress! You welcome everyone with a smile, you are attentive and personable. The scallops and shrimp were to die for! The sunset was beautiful to watch from our table.
I’d love to frequent more often!
Good job The Lakehouse! You make North Santee the place to hang out!

Our 2nd time visiting this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. Located right off of I-95 on the lake with a spectacular view and within walking distance from the campground we’re staying at. The food and service was great and their menu will fit any appetite and budget.

This place is highly overrated. The atmosphere does not match the prices. Service was good. We got fried gator tail, hushpuppies & twisted shrimp as an appetizer. Twisted shrimp was delicious. The hushpuppies were also good, but some of the gator tail was tough. My husband ordered the oscar filet. Filet mignon topped with crab cake & hollandaise sauce. Crab cake was very fishy, which means it wasn’t fresh. We did not eat that. His filet was cooked perfectly & was delicious. I got blackened scallops with baked potato & corn nuggets. The scallops were delicious. Bill was way too high for atmosohere & food received.

We had a party of 9 and the service and food was phenomenal ❤️ 10 out of 10 recommend. The prime rib on Saturday night is off the charts. Tenderest I’ve ever had .. a huge portion also…
Loved this place.

This was a great find! You will not find a better view anywhere on Lake Marion… Food was great, but the shining star was the homemade dessert! The “OMG Cheesecake” with homemade blueberry sauce was absolutely fantastic… Probably the best I’ve had. Another shining star was the hush puppies. They were the perfect bite-sized amount, which allowed for crispiness all the way around, but with a soft inside. I had catfish right from Lake Marion and my husband had grouper. I had the lemon garlic dill sauce, and it was great!

Food was okay. It didn’t quite hit the spot but it was well cooked. Shrimp cocktail was fantastic. I thought it was cute the drinks come in jars instead of cups.

The atmosphere was very negative. Mostly influenced by the woman up front. She lacks tact, professionalism, and only seems to really care about CERTAIN not ALL locals. It’s a shame because our bartender was funny and really nice. It was 100% overshadowed but the negativity from certain “regulars” and the lady up front who slammed her hand on the bar at one point out of frustration. Always tragic to see a team be let down by 1 person. After reading other reviews- doesn’t seem like this will change nor do they dare lol

★★★★★ A Place That Stays With You

The Lake House is not simply a restaurant—it is a feeling. From the moment you step inside, you’re wrapped in a warmth that feels like a soft Southern embrace, the kind that settles your shoulders and tells you you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. The beauty of the space is breathtaking, unlike anything I’ve encountered before, with every detail on the walls quietly telling its own story.

The service moves beyond hospitality and into something almost artful. Eve was truly unmatched—graceful, attentive, and effortlessly present, elevating the entire evening without ever stealing the moment. Each dish felt like a journey in itself, from the comforting perfection of hush puppies to pork chops that were nothing short of memorable. Every bite carried intention, care, and soul.

And then dessert—an ending so fitting it felt like a final note held just long enough to leave you in awe. I rarely write reviews unless asked, but this experience demanded to be honored in words. To leave without writing one would have felt like leaving a love letter unfinished.

The Lake House lingers with you long after you’ve gone. It is beauty, warmth, and excellence woven together—an experience that feels as rare as it is unforgettable

My family and I stopped at The Lake House during a road trip. We randomly picked it on Google Maps. It is a cute, off the beaten path restaurant for someone who doesn’t live in the area or is part of the RV culture.

We were seated right away and there was a sign at the greeters station indicating reservations were recommended. Our waitress was nice but not friendly.

We had hush puppy appetizers which came out immediately and were good. Dinner was a burger and fries, fried pork chops with baked potato and collard greens, steak and fish with baked potato and mac and cheese.

Overall the food was edible but not worth the price. The skin of the baked potato tasked like the smell of the front store area.
