The food is decent, and I appreciate the hard-working cooks in the back. However, the cashier will be the downfall of this place.

I went yesterday, and she had a huge attitude with me when I wanted to add a side of rice to my order. It was last minute, but instead of simply saying no, she rolled her eyes and acted annoyed, so I changed my mind.

Later, there were customers eating together. The cashier accidentally overcharged one of them and gave her less change. When the customer pointed it out, the receptionist gave her attitude again. Shortly after, a man who was with the group asked for napkins. She grabbed a bottle of napkins and basically slammed them on the opposite side of the counter, forcing him to walk over and get them. He asked her why she did that when he was standing right there. The customer told her she needed to be more cheerful and that her behavior was extremely rude.

I definitely won’t be coming back here.

We called ahead to ask if we could still dine in if we arrived at 8:30 pm. The woman who answered the phone (I believe her name is Yinka) told us that although the restaurant closed at 9 pm, they could still accommodate us.
Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were met with some of the most shockingly rude and unsettling service I’ve ever experienced. Between dismissively taking our order and loudly yelling into her phone, Yinka openly discussed us with staff in the kitchen in Yoruba, right in our presence. The behavior was uncomfortable and confusing.

After waiting about 25 minutes, we politely asked how much longer our food might take: not to rush anyone, but simply to know what to expect. Instead of answering, she scolded us for coming near closing time, despite having assured us on the phone that dining in was fine. When I clarified again, she responded with visible irritation and a snarky tone, barely addressing the question. She then continued speaking about us in both Yoruba and pidgin to the kitchen staff, which felt incredibly inappropriate.
When the food eventually arrived, it was served with complete indifference. This was my first visit to the restaurant, and my friend—who had dined here before—had never encountered this staff member. I had been traveling all day and hadn’t eaten, yet neither of us showed anything but courtesy and patience. Despite that, we were treated as if we had done something wrong simply by being there.

What truly saved the evening, and this review, was the owner, Veronica. She came out to check on us, warmly engaged us, and kindly helped pack our food to go since the portions were generous. She shared that she’s been running the restaurant for 36 years, and her professionalism and kindness single-handedly restored some faith in the establishment.
Unfortunately, even then, Yinka attempted to gossip about us again—this time in front of the owner—until Veronica reminded her that I understood Yoruba. Strangely, Yinka then asked me to confirm this. After learning I was from out of town, she made an unsolicited and confusing comment about my “caliber” and how I carried myself “in a good way.” The entire interaction was deeply uncomfortable.

This may genuinely be one of the best Nigerian restaurants I’ve been to in terms of food, but I honestly doubt I would return simply to avoid another encounter like this. No customer deserves to be treated with such disrespect. We were courteous, excited to be there, and did nothing to warrant this behavior.
Please be aware.

I was hesitant to try this place based on the reviews. You will see a mix of 1 to 4 stars. However, we were pleasantly surprised with everything. The food was great! Two of us ordered efo riro (I had fish, the other goat) and it was great. Tasted good and the portion size was great! It came out hot and we were happy. Our friend ordered pepper soup which was also good. The wait for the food wasn’t short and also not extremely long.

For the price, we thought the quantities were great! The woman taking care of orders was also kind. Out of many Nigerian places we’ve tried, this one of the best ones.

We will be back and would recommend as well.

Like many other reviewers, I had heard positive things about this restaurant. However, I had to wait a half hour (15% tip was mandatory) for my egusi, which was actually quite disappointing. It was greasy and unhealthy

I rode the bus for more than 2 hours to get here to try the food, and that is huge for me because I wouldn’t travel that far for food.

I had the warmest welcome by the staff here, and I noticed how kind and courteous they were to every one and not just their own people.

My experience of the food was really good. I had Abula with Goat Meat. “Abula” is the combination of Ewedu, Gbegiri, Tomato Stew, and Amala.
The goat meat was really tender, and the food portion is very large in my opinion (which is very good).

The menu is very simple to navigate, and the eating the food takes one back home to the feeling of eating good food in Nigeria.

I will definitely be visiting this place again anytime I am in its environment.

THE BEST part of this was the lady at the register was very nice.
Otherwise, it was a disaster….

The food was horrible.. I’m sorry, I had sooo many expections about this place, it was suggested to me. I have lived in Cali 3 yrs and I finally got to Inglewood to try this food & I was soooo disappointed.. ‍♀️
The spinach soup tasted & smelled like vomit
The egusi was edible, but not great. I poured the entire 20.00 container of spinach stew out! No one in my house would eat it, it was sooo bad. We are from Texas & this is one of my family’s favorite african dishes.
The fufu was beige color not white; maybe wheat? I dont know but it was ALL NOT GOOD, 60.00 bucks wasted
I ordered Puff Puff, I reminded them to put them in my bag & THEY STILL left it out.

I drove 45 mins to experience Veronica’s and I was totally let down..

The food wasn’t authentic and the price of everything Cost too much for what they served. The egusi soup was so watery i couldn’t even pick it up with the fufu. The food that I experienced in Nigeria is not what I experienced from this place. The food also didn’t have any flavor. The jellof rice was not good and the okra. If they add more flavor and make their stuff less watery
It could be better.

I went to pick up my online order.Thats was Beef and Chicken Agussi.
After we got our order we drove back home.
After my daughter started eating Agussi she was like it taste weird but as she continues eating we saw that the meat was fish. Both the container was FISH.
My daughter is allergic to fish and thank God she didn’t eat much we didn’t hv to rush her to ER,and we had to give her Epipen shot.We are still observing our daughter.
She has rashes but no breathing issue.
I called them to let them know what happend.
The person who picked up the phone did say it was error from their point.I wanted to scream at them and call Police or sue them.
That was negligence.
But I just want people to be aware that plz make sure to chk the order before you take home.
We love Veronica Kitchen food. But this will be our last time.

I arrived at the restaurant right at opening time and was the very first customer, yet the restaurant was not open when I got there. After placing my order, I ended up waiting one hour and sixteen minutes just to receive a single meal—jollof rice with stew, plantain, and whiting fish.

When I was paying, the cashier asked if I would be using cash or card. I told her card, and although she gave me the price, she then charged an additional $4.45, explaining that “the computer does it,” essentially adding a tip to what turned out to be extremely poor service.

While the food itself was good, the service was unacceptable. Because of this experience, I will not be returning
