Absolutely incredible food! All 4 of us were completely happy with our entrées. My wife had the fajitas de Mar, & had to take half home! My pesce de Diablo was delicious, and a portion also came home with me! It was pretty crowded, & a little loud, but food came out fast & hot! We’ll definitely be back!

I have been chewing on this review for a while. Friendly staff, large food portions, and reasonable prices make it a good choice. The chicken Primavera dishes were typical for the area, very similar to other restaurants. The sampler dish was huge! Three separate plates full of food. Unfortunately, the ground beef portions were barely seasoned or simply not seasoned at all. If we lived in the area we would possibly visit again to try other dishes.

So we decided to stop for a early dinner. So glad we did. We were greeted quickly and seated in quick order. Our server, Yare, was very nice, helpful and left a great impression. Now for the food, absolutely fantastic . A definite stop if you’re in the area.

After requesting to sit outside we had to wait 15 minutes until someone sat chips and salsa down before walking away with nothing said. After another 5 minutes we decided to go inside, finally got our order in. Got our food almost instantly just to find it watered down, flavorless, and best I can describe as pet food. One person in our group ended up getting sick after eating before we even left. Manager seemed like he could care less. If I could give zero stars I would. Everything was terrible from the service to the food. We will not be going back here.

This was hands-down the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. No spices, no cheese, and everything was mushy. Calling it “flavorless” would be generous. It tasted less like Mexican cuisine and more like something you’d scoop out of a can for a pet.

What has happened to this place? Tonight was honestly so horrible I will NEVER go back! To start the table had been wiped down with a soiled mildew towel and even after it dried, all you could smell was mildew from the table top. The waitress took our order and then never showed back up! After a long wait, another person ran the food out, 5 minutes apart for 2 meals at same table, my friend, that I was eating with was missing things from his plate and I was missing tortillas! After waiting over 20 more minutes for our waitress I finally flagged someone down for my tortillas so I could eat my meal. After one cold bite later it hit me that the beefsteak was so spoiled and out of date the person I was eating with even mention that something on my plate was spoiled, he smelled it across the table!! My meal had chicken, steak and shrimp and the beef was completely spoiled! My friend said his plate was like dogfood, it looked like it too! We then had to wait and flag another person down for the check that never came so I finally went to the front to begrudgingly pay because I did not want to make a scene, from the counter I looked into the kitchen and it was NASTY! I honestly do not know how they pass inspections and this is only what everyone can see from the front desk! After seeing that, I thanked god I did not eat because I feel like I would have gotten very sick from the spoiled meat and filthy kitchen! I am at a loss for the positive reviews for this place, are people in Harriman that out of touch with food and hygiene standards? I can not imaging how many people there have got food poisoning from this place!

We went to El Cantarito Mexican Restaurant, Harriman, TN on Saturday night. We were hoping to go earlier but it was not in the cards for us. My Girlfriend ordered the Ground Beef Chimichangas and I ordered the Pollo Primavera Full Shrimp. My Girlfriend got a Virgin Pina Coloda & Water to drink whereas I ordered a Sweet Tea. The Drinks came almost immediately after order and the food was shortly there-after. Literally 5 minutes after we ordered the food, the food was at our Table. I am on a High Protein Diet and they were able to accommodate for my needs. The food was most excellent and the service was exceptional as well. Their store is clean, plenty of parking including Handicap spaces, Wheelchair accessible as well, and The Staff are friendly & helpful.
In Addition to my review. I cannot figure this out but my faith in humanity was renewed that this restaurant. Let me explain; After we finished our meal, my Girlfriend ordered addition food to take home to the kids. When the nice lady brought the food all bagged up to the Table, she brought the check for the additional food. I asked her for the check for our meal, she said that someone anonymously paid for our dinner. She said that there was not check for our meal. I was shocked but thankful as well.
To the Patron who covered our Meal, I want to thank you for it. I will give back as well to the next person so that kindness that you showed to us is shared with others.

Service is great! Food is amazing! I’ve tried several things but my go to is beef chimichanga. They are fast and clean and delicious.
