We were in town for my husband’s work and had dinner at the string bean, and returned the next day for the fried Oreos! Everything was absolutely amazing from the service to the food!! For dinner we started with the fried pickles, my husband had a burger, and I had the mahi rice bowl. It is a smaller restaurant, so I would recommend a reservation.

I really feel that it was priced accordingly just based on the food, quality, flavor & presentation alone.
I would highly recommend the shrimp appetizer, and the fried green beans.
The duck that fries were possibly some of the best fries I ever had in my life.
Very filling, a great appetizer when there’s several people at the table for sure.
I got so satisfied that I was full off the appetizers for my meal came I can only take a couple bites.
I enjoyed it later on that evening for sure.
Extremely clean bathrooms along with the restaurant in general, including the outside grounds.
Parking is a little difficult and you more than likely will have to park on the street.
I won hundred percent endorse and recommend this location for a fantastic meal.

Low key the best bottle shop in Belmont for real, maybe Gaston county. They have this one hostess, her name is weird like Laylonknee or whatever… Complete smoke show. Great food and amazing service. They have this guy who looks like MGM Jesus who brings your food and it is surreal.

We stopped by for an early dinner on Saturday and since we had our pup with us, we stayed outside on the patio. Great atmosphere, friendly service and excellent food! You must try the duck fat fries, scrumptious!!!

The right amount of comfort food meets date night. Great choices of wine and beer to choose from. If you’re a fan of Reuben sandwiches, this is a place to try! Their corned beef is made in house from their butcher and you can tell it’s authentic. Very delicious! If you’re feeling adventurous for dessert, their Fried Oreos are amazing!

The string bean was recommended to us by our realtor. While the waitress was nice and service was quick, we did not enjoy our food. I ordered the fish and chips and it was the worst I’ve ever had. The batter was very thick and the fish/batter were over cooked. Basically burnt. The fries looked like it came out the bottom of the bag because all I had was small hard pieces. The tartar sauce was bland. I didn’t eat most of it. My dad had the shrimp and grits and said the grits were bland but the shrimp was fine. He didn’t finish his food either. The best thing we had was the pimento cheese and crab dip appetizer. I wouldn’t go back because if you mess up on fish and fries then I don’t trust anything else.

After hiking nearby Crowder Mountain and Kings Mountain, & being out many more hours than planned, we showed up hungry and with our golden retriever 1.5 yr old. They welcomed us on a busy Saturday evening and sat us almost immediately on the outdoor patio.
I can’t even talk about the cool ambiance, friendly staff, or the butcher shop that includes a the wine & gift shop too. I must get to the mouth watering food and review the rest next time,

Now about for the food for us: WOW! I was wowed! The burgers were fall apart in your hand butcher shop fresh and had unique flavor profiles.
Nothing on the menu could be a wrong choice (unless you accidentally order the ghost peppers and aren’t a spice fan).
The light crisp ONB Pilsner (beer) paired well with the Red Corvette burger or the burger called the Angry Cow Pig.
BUT My fan favorite was the asparagus side. Best asparagus I’ve had in my life I think. Grilled to perfection, flavored lightly but just enough. Not soft. Not too crisp.
I will be back to try more than their incredible burgers, and you should too.

The food took a very long time to arrive. That’s ok since we had appetizers and drinks. My only complaint would be that the server might should have checked in more often for drink refills. Make sure you are prepared to wait for the main courses and order appetizers.
When the food arrived, the table became silent as everyone enjoyed the amazing flavors.
